Hi all.

I've only recently become a fan of Firefly. My mate got a 'copy' of serenity a couple of months ago...about a week later 4 of us have bought the Firefly series on DVD and awaiting the Serenity DVD release here (UK).

I like some sci-fi (mainly Alien films). But I'm more of a horror buff. Especially Zombie movies. I listen to some metal/indie, like computers/consoles and 40k.

This place appears to have some really nice people and I'm hoping I can grow as a Firefly fan. My best mate has his projector back from holland so we're planning our own little firefly day once we have a real dvd version of Serenity.

Just make sure that you tell everyone that you know about Firefly and Serenity. Believe me, it helps spread the 'verse to others on a big scale.

Welcome to the best place a browncoat can ever ask for. You're right... A lot of nice people here. I'm a newbie myself(2 weeks hehehe!!) and whenever I'm not watching firefly/serenity or at work... I spend most of my time just checking out this site. A lot of interesting things going on all the time. Cool place for people like you and me. Have fun!!!

Oh don't worry I work at woolies and I mentioned it to anyone who I think will take interest. And when we get Serenity in I'll be selling it to people as much as we can.

As I said a group of us got into it...and there is not one person who knows us now who hasn't heard of Firefly.

I go to a computer gaming center..which is where we started watching it and it takes one person to say 'shiny' for us all to have a 45minute conversation about it. Especially Our Mrs. Reynolds and Out of Gas.

So anyone who walks in knows about it :)

I know most of you have been fans for a long time...but I'm still struck by how great the programme is..its just amazing how well they all gelled...lol sorry I'll stop my rant before it gets going.

Don't worry, you'll learn to control your rants, though some times you just can't help it and just want to start yelling and go up to Fox and ask them just what in the sphincter of hell were they thinking of cancelling a show that had so much heart and soul invested into it and replacing it with some major crap reality shows and sex driven shows with no plot or characters that anyone will remember. There is so much I need to learn...like what really happened to Firefly. For example I didn't know any of that about the shows being aired wrong.

The network, Fox decided to air "The Train Job" as the pilot instead of Serenity part 1 and 2 because it didn't have enough action and was a little too deep for them. They then aired it as the last, yup very last, episode ever of Firefly. How Stupid is that? They just asumed that we should jump into the show without knowing anything about them. Here's the original airdates of the shows as on your Firefly dvd box set:

That's the list. As you can see, some were never aired and taken right out of the originally planned order.
