No BOWIE,

No patterns yet. Plus I use a knitting loom, not knitting needles. (I know, "real" knitters frown at us loomers...LOL)

Anyway, If I ever write them up I will post it...but you may have to get yourself a knifty knitter.

Do I quote Firefly without meaning to? All! The! Time! It's getting silly.

I taught English as a foreign language during the summer and used the TV show/movie premise to promote a discussion on the future of the English language. Interesting topic, and it helped get a bunch of English teachers going to see the movie :)

Still, I have a long history with Jossverse quotes. I quoted Buffy and Angel for years and no one had a clue what the heck I was on about. Some of my more infamous moments include:

1) Yelling "Numfar! Do the dance of joy!" at the top of my voice when the Irish soccar team equalised with Germany in a world cup match.

2) Shouting "Ha ha ha! Puny recepticle!" when I managed to hit a target with a tennis ball.

3) Saying "That was the most fun you could have without having any fun." after a particularly long and boring meeting.

*sigh* It's difficult being the only Mutant Enemy fan at work...

Well, I have had pretty much all of my friends ask me to stop talking about it ALONG with my family. Now whenever I start they all glare or their eyes glaze over. *Sniff*

I've also now recruited 7 new people to Firefly and Serenity and am working on number 8. Which I figure is pretty damn good for a 15 year old in a town of 800 in south-eastern Minnesota.

But I know I'm obsessed because whenever some one says something that sounds remotely like a Firefly/Serenity line I have to stop whatever I'm doing until I can figure out where the quote is, what episode it's from (or if it's from the movie) and then say the line the correct way.
I did that during a basketball game with my friends. They didn't appreciate cause I had the ball and wouldn't give it to them till I knew where it was from. heeehee

And of course I use Firefly speech whenever possible. I get weird looks a lot too but I'm used to it. lol. *sigh* No one in my school understands. Which of course is why I spend so much time here.

I figure this obsession is good. If not Firefly, it might be making pipe-bombs.

A loom? Wow, my repect goes up five notches. I tried to learn how to do that once, but couldn't get teh hang of it. Everything I made, in many ways, resembles a blown up Octapus, but not in a good way. :P

If you play Nationstates.net check out the region Firefly.

I always find myslef saying things like "aint" and talking in a western way. Using "don't" instead of "doesn't", very odd what an obsession can truely do to the mind.

Mal: He'll kill you, kill every last one of them if it comes to that and he he'll sleep well that night.
Nandi: Rance Burgess is just a man, and I wont let any man take what's mine. I doubt you'de do differently in my position.
Mal: well lady. . .You're my kind of stupid

If you hear the words "shindig, shiny, lion, alliance, independance, unification, leaf, etc." and your first thoughts go to Firefly, you're obsessed (one science video in class talked about the unification of scientific laws over and over, so I kept thinking about Firefly).

If Jayne immediately registers as a boy's name in your head.

If Wash is now a noun, not a verb in your mind.

If at the first party after you get your DVD you FORCE everyone to watch it. ( I'm going to a party on Friday...)

Hahaha!

You are moving to a new place temporarily while your home is being sold, and know you will be living out of boxes for a few months. So you pack up all your DVDs except for Firefly & Serenity, knowing that you can go with watching no other programs and be happy.

*Looks around at all the gorram boxes... ugh!*
