Hey Y'all.

New Fan here. We missed the movie in the theaters and never watched the series (I was still mad about Buffy) My uncle got the series for Christmas and my Husband got the movie for Christmas so after a 4 day Firefly marathon we are 100% hooked.
We were at D*Con last year (Atlanta) and there was a HUGE amount of hoopla but as I said we hadnt seen it yet and spent all of our time in StarGate pannels and Robert Jordan signings. We could certainly tell that the fans were dedicated and now we know just what we were missing out on.

So Now that we ARE big fans and are buying and gobbling up everything we can we want to know.

Are there any big plans for D*con in '06?

Welcome to the site & the browncoat ranks Muirgheal. Glad to have you aboard.

So far I have heard no plans specific for Dragon Con, but I am sure there will be plenty of events for us Firefly/Serenity fans long before the Con starts.

Be sure to share Firefly w/ everyone you know & be sure to push the movie DVD. The more DVDs that are sold the better our chances to get a sequel.

Now that you know just how great the 'verse is, I'm sure you wanna sequel just like me. So I'm sharing Firefly/Serenity with as many folks as I can hoping that we continue to have new folks like you come aboard. Then they'll share too! Hope you'll do the same.

You'll like it here, I think, this place is warm and friendly and a great resource for all things Firefly/Serenity!

Yup,

We are buying our own copy of Firefly and my husband is getting a copy of Serenity for his PSP (which will give us 2 copies of the movie)
My father is a collector of artifacts from The War of Northern Aggression and "The Killer Angels" is one of his favorite books, so he will be getting a copy of Firefly in the near future. As with anything we love we plan to share it with everyone. Even my 8 year old is saying "gorram".

This place is full of gentle souls. I should know... I'm a newbie myself. Just like most of us... I found out about this verse through SERENITY and after a few minutes of total amazement... I knew I was hooked. Mal is just awesome!!! I sometimes try to think of a better, funnier, cooler, nicer, braver, more charismatic, and more intriguing "hero" than our Captain Reynolds but I always end up with the same result... There's no such person. He is the ultimate and I honestly believe that he's even better in person/real life. Plus.... The rest of the crew are just as spectacular. I will run out of superlatives if I try to describe how much I love the whole cast( even the bad guys like Niska!) or how attached I am to their stories and troubles. OOPPSS... I think I'm getting carried away hehehe!!! I just wanna say WELCOME!!!Glad to have you here. One more to hold the line!!!!

I think it's really cute having an 8 year old running around uttering GORRAM. Just cute!!!!

Welcome to the 'family'.

Be sure to check out the podcasts (links below) if you want to stay "immersed in the 'verse" since I'm sure both podcasts will be discussing what Dragon*Con and other cons will be doing in relation to Firefly/Serenity.
