Someone just told me today that the Sci-fi channel is talking about picking the series up again and airing new episodes in 2007. Someone please crush this dream quickly before I start to think there's good in this world.

Who told you? Someone who works for Scifi? Someone who knows Joss?
If that's not the case, I have to treat it as just what you said it is, a rumor. Probably b.s.
I'd love to think it's true however.

scifi likes to pick up shows that should be dead, though. look at sg-1. how many more seasons did scifi get out of it after it left the networks?

SG1 was going strong though. It wasn't shown in the wrong order and canned in the 1st season.

I watched SG1 for eight years, and I like it, but I think they should can it already. It jumped the shark when they decided to introduce a new threat to the universe to replace the old one. I say axe SG1 and replace it with new Firefly!

There was a post about two weeks ago that someone threw up mentioning that SciFi greenlighted a new production of some sort (miniseries?) and that it had been confirmed on some blog or another. It didn't drum up a bit of response (I don't think even one reply), so I figured it was checked on and nobody could find any confirmation.
Like everyone said, it's rumor =) No official word has come from any official source, and I think if it had been (and we were *allowed* to know about it) then we would have gotten some press by now.
That's my opinion, though =)

i think SciFi should at least give it a short mini-series stint to test the waters. The viewers from Browncoats alone will gain them higher numbers then a lot of other alternatives.

Well, SG1 and Atlantis are the only two weekly series I watch. So I disagree it should be cancelled. I think it's still pretty good.
