NO NEED TO SHOUT!!!!
We can hear you just fine!
Thought Farscape had been canned...
Out of curiosity...
Has there ever been a show cancelled, and then brought back? With most of the actors signed up to other shows, bringing firefly back would be very difficult I would have thought?

You know i think the fan response for roswell was so big when the wb canned it, that upn picked it up for a season but they canned it too after a really poor season.i guess thats the only show thats returned from the cancellation line.

Farscape was cancelled after season 4, although SciFi had already said there would be a season 5. Farscapes ratings had dropped .2 points (not much), while the cost per episode increased slightly. All of the cast of Farscape are gung ho about returning, but a season 5 is pretty much a pipe dream. Rumor is (and this rumor has been perpetuated by "no comments" by the shows creators) that Farscape will return with a 4 hour mini-series to tie off loose plot threads that they could not finish because of SciFi Channels betrayal. We shall see if this happens, but I think it would be great to see. Farscape cancellation announcement was about a year ago. I would love to see those plot threads resolved, but only time will tell.

Don't forget the all time fan favourite Star Trek. It was, I believe, the very first show that was brought back from cancelation oblivion.
As far as Farscape goes, I am pretty hopeful that this show will return. The Henson family has just regained control of their company (as of August 1, 2003) and of Farscape and they seem pretty committed to at least finishing the Farscape story.
It took 10 years for Star Trek to go from cancellation to movie(s) and then back to a TV series, so I am actually pretty hopeful. As I am for Firefly. (Just don't want to wait 10 years!)
As a side note, I have been following some of the various "save my show" campaigns, and I guess my take on the whole issue is; the powers that be at the networks have enormous contempt for Science Fiction fans. The fans who just happen to be their customers.
Some of the comments that have been said and the strategies that have been formulated to 'manage' the fan base have really offended me.
In my view, it just really is not a good marketing strategy to mortally offend your customers.

Ok, a show that was cancelled and subsequently rescued was SLIDERS! (Another FOX show!)
It premiered on FOX in 1995, and stayed on the air for 3 seasons (although the first 2 seasons only had 23 episodes combined) with strong ratings and a decent fan base. FOX then cancelled the show, the last new episode aired in May of 1997.
After significant outcries from the fans, the SCI-FI channel renewed the series for 2 more seasons (it could have been more, but the lead actor Jerry O'Connell didn't come back for the 5th season so ratings took a nose dive)
Anyways, guess I just wanted to let you know it can and has happened in the past.
One of these days I'm going to make a list of all the promising shows FOX has prematurely killed...
I loved Farscape... I've seen every episode and love the many different species/creatures, the interactions amongst the crew, the growth of the characters (esp John) from season 1 to present. I especially appreciate the fact that mankind isn't a major player in the universe unlike 99% of the other sci fi shows!
I hope it gets renewed (I hope Firefly is renewed as well DUH!)... Otherwise, next season is going to be pretty slow for me!
Thanks for reading,

Farscape - i can't say enough to praise this show - to say it was a great show , well it's an understatement. This show was so creative in it storytelling and it's character development. The acting was always great ! It deserved more attention - it was refreshingly different !
All I hope for is some sort of wrap up movie or mini-series !
hopefully it'll happen one day

"For Your Love" was cancelled at least three times. I started watching it on the WB, but before that it was on another channel (ABC maybe) and possibly NBC before that, I can't remember. Anyway, after a while, The WB cancelled it, then they ordered another [half]-season as a potential mid-season replacement, and they actually ended up using it, though the show was subsequently cancelled for a third or fourth time.

After Pretender was cancelled, they made two tv movies. It's rare, but things can happen.

Sliders, Farsacpe, the Pretender, and of course Firefly, all ended before they should have. Even through it wasn’t really sliders without Quin there should have been an ending, instead there was another cliffhanger. Extra disappointing considering Sci-Fi’s count down the last episode made it seem like there would be some sort of confusion. Good or bad (as in happy or sad) an ending was owed.
The Pretender many of us still hold out hope for another movie to continue it, but the last one didn’t deliver as well as it might have. Farscape and Firefly we all know about.
