You know you're obsessed when... You realize that watching anything else other than Firefly/Serenity is almost entirely a waste of time. Everytime(very seldom!!) that I get to watch anything else or start watching something else ...I always end up thinking about Firefly/Serenity and saying to myself how blessed we browncoats are for having discovered this verse we got. There's nothing out there that comes close to how superior our crew... our ship... our stories... and our verse is or how much I love , adore and enjoy FIREFLY/SERENITY. As far as I'm concerned... There's Firefly/Serenity and then there's "everything else" and if I can help it... The rest of my life will have very little of "that everything else". I know I'm a hopeless case but Gorram it.... I'm proud of it and I love it!!!!!

You think about Mal and crew all the time, and don't really like watching anything else.

You spend most of your time ( even time you are supposed to be doing something else!) right here at FFF.net, because this is home.

You say gorramnit and shiny all of the time, it's now second nature, AND the folks around you are imitating you and asking you where you got the cool new words ( thus leading to opportunities to convert folks into Browncoats!)

You ALWAYS say dong ma for understand.

Your desktop at home and at work is a pic of Mal or Serenity. And your screensavers are pics of Mal and Serenity too!

You play the DVD's at work for folks to see and maybe fall in love too!

You look for news of a sequel everyday and you are willing to buy DVD's and convert folks, because you love this 'verse so much.

No---me obsessed? Not much....

FOLLOWMAL--That could be my list! Right there with you. I'm a new fan, and kind of surprised by my sudden and all-encompassing obsession. It would be a might disturbing if I didn't have daily reassurance on these boards that I'm not the only one!

Welcome, mcallen!

Naw, you're not alone! We're all out here in the same boat ( literally, ha, here at FFF.net!).

Glad to have you, join in all the time and hope you have as much fun and feel as at home here as I do!

Dong ma?

"Where's the back-up? WHERE'S THE BACK-UP?!" Mal

Now, I ain't sayin' I'm a gorram addict, or nothin', 'cause that's just wrong. Dong ma?

But I did kinda notice when I was trying to work on my LOTR fanfiction story that Lord Celeborn's sounding more and more Mal, and that Haldir's thinking more and more like Jayne. (Just kill 'em and get it over with!)

I think maybe I'm cross-genre-ing. And don't even go into what's happened over at Highlander-Community. We got more Jayne & Mal sigs than we do Methos!

I know I'm obsessed when...

1. I come home from work and immediately login to the boards. oh wait, first i have to get browncoat radio playing so the background is set.

2. instead of going on a normal vacation to the mountains or the beach, i ask my husband if we can go to a geekfest called dragoncon so i can listen to the cast talk. and because he knows what kind of fan i am, he says yes.

3. i volunteer to work the fanbooth at said dragoncon, go to the shindig by myself to mingle with browncoats, and have invested in different firefly shirts to wear every day.

4. If i'm going into any public location where i think a demographic might be interested in the verse, i wear the shirts as propaganda (going dancing, going to the mall, going to an art show...)

5. i bring serenity to my friend's new year's eve party to play in the background for propaganda.

6. i donate a set of the verse to the local libraries.

and all this goes without saying... getting friends to watch the episodes, using the lingo, going to the movie in the theatre 3 times, rewatching the dvds until i can say the lines before they do...

fanhood is fun!

... every time you're watching TV and see the Universal logo appear, it feels weird when it doesn't morph into Earth That Was with accompanying narration.

My friends are like, "Okay, lets go see a movie. NO SARA WE ARE NOT WATCHING SERENITY AGAIN!"
Gorrammit. No, really, I have trouble working 'gorram' into stuff unless I'm by myself, but shiny is definitely overused, along with chinese phrases under my breath at people. I'm a regular moonbrain (use that, too). Also, too many 'ain'ts', and quoting the series and movie has become a regular for me. Anytime I can put something in, I will. I've used "I-I was weak" at least twice this week. Yesterday my dad made us all listen to the Firefly and Serenity soundtrack because I got the theme song stuck in his head, and he needed to listen to it again right away. I'm also prone to break out in The Hero of Canton everywhere. It's sooo fun being obsessive!
Scary, but wacky fun.

I loaned my sister and her family my "Firefly" DVDs and today when she brought them back, I lent her "Serenity". It was like a hostage trade, each of us hanging on to our DVD box until we had a good grip on the other and snatching it away!

All day Friday at work, I was singing the Fruity Oaty Bar song.

I'm lucky to still be alive.

You miss Mal and all the other members of the crew more than your own family-----what am I saying?! They are my family!

If wishes was horses, we'd all be eatin' steak!
