Agreed. Which is why Star Trek is experiencing bad times right now. You just can't rehash a 40-year old, alien-of-the-week formula over and over again without people losing interest. At least not without well-developed characters and interesting plots, which Voyager (Autopilot Trek)and Enterprise (The Show of Missed Opportunities)suffered a lack of.

I loved DS9 too, of all the incarnations this was my very favourite. It kinda dwarfed the rest in comparison, it took risks, it wasn't what we'd come to expect from Star Trek and it earned a very special place in my heart.
