Badger......in a commercial?

I don't know how many in here are in the U.S. or if they get the famous Geico Insurance commercials featuring the famous "gekko" as their mascot, but the next time you see the latest batch of these ads with the gekko speaking to other gekkos, listen to the British accent and tell me this doesn't sound like Badger. That sad little man has found a way off his sad little hill!

The accent is Badger's, but I'm not sure the voice is. Mark Sheppard's voice is rougher, I believe. However, he did appear in two episodes of "Medium", in several recent episodes of "24", an episode of "Monk", and a few movies, according to IMDB. He's been a busy little beav..... um, no.

I had the same thought today... My back was to the tv, and the voice sounded so much like Badger it made me turn around to see what was on. When I saw that it was a Geico commercial, I wondered why the gekko never seemed to sound like Badger before, but I also remember dismissing the idea that it was Mark. (Not that that means it wasn't him, just that I dismissed the idea.) I suppose we could ask him, as he frequents the "Just a Hello to Mark Sheppard" thread.

I was thinking the exact same thing the other night. You beat me to a post...
...I don't care what anyone says that is sooo Badger's voice. It came on while I was watching the Medium he was on, and upon hearing what I know his voice is, found out it was a Geico commercial.
It totally HAS to be his voice. Unless there's at least one other person that sounds EXACTLY like him. But I think there is too small of a chance for that.

Well, count me among those who thought of Mark-as-Badger when I saw that commercial. But I think the chances of its actually being him are small. There are lots of people who do (or can) use that accent, and many voices sound similar -- especially when speaking in the same accent, and especially when that accent isn't one you hear all the time.

Are we talking about the new commercials where the Geico Gecko is talking to other real lizards? I've not caught on that it sounds like Mark, but I'll give a listen to it next time I see the commercial.

I'm with those who recognized the accent but not necessarily the voice.
My first experience with Mark was on the x-files, and can't help thinking of that ep every time I see him on something else... Was thrilled to see him on Firefly!
