I got to see it now and I loved it.

What software did you use to do it and was it done on a Mac or PC?

I've just started my second and final year at film school and I would be really happy to pass that over as my final project, it was great how the music worked with the visuals, shown right from the start when River opens her eyes.

I think I'll take it in to college to show one of my tutors, he's always trying to get this over to us and this would be a great example (if that's ok with you).

If you hadn't got the message yet - I love it!

I want to be the UK's Joss Whedon and currently have a project at www.zerobudgetmovie.com - Currently looking for cast and crew.

Hi Elrika

Looks like you've made the browncoats all shiny & whatnot. I wonder if you have an mp3 conversion of your video as, my 5-year old Mac just is not impressed by .wmv's... turns up its nose & gets all snooty when they're around, so I can't see it on my current eqipment

Finally saw it (this computer can't play vid files, so I had to download, then carry to another computer, then come back here to post). Wow. That's just awesome!

Thank you very much for your words guys !

@ SHINYJOE - It's done on PC using Sony Vegas,
Adobe Premiere & Virtual Dub.
Wish you the very best of luck at the film school. Show it to whoever you like amigo ( credits untouched ^_^ )

@ WILDHARE - Wash is very cool :)

@ UNSARDONIC - You can try and use this converter here
http://www.kaisakura.com/Forty-Two_DVDVX_Plus.html ( i think you can use the demo version, not sure though, and be sure NOT to compress the sound, cose it usually goes out of sync when compressing both sound and video at the same time...well, at least in Windows softwares it does :) )
Or you can use this player here:
http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/ ( not sure about this one either, but you can give it a try )

@ MIMA - 10x for the post :)
Some of the things we pay extra atention to when
making a vid are story and continuity. We try to
make our vids for both fans of the movie/series
"and" for people that haven't seen the show we vid. At some time when we were making this vid, the scene where River gathers her knees and smiles, was exactly where you sugested it should be, but, after carefull examination of what that scene suggests exclusively in the vid's context, we decided it doesn't fit the vid's story, as it would've extended a bit too far the relationship between River and Mal.
The very last scene is meant to "close the circle" (is my english very VERY bad..? please tell me guys ^_^) and keep the pacing with the fading song.
The last moonsuit shot is there for both visual & story continuity reasons, The viewer does not see who she floats to ( which is very appropriate ), but seeing her happy and calm expression, there's no doubt that she is someplace safe, away from the madness.
Now, about the lower quality of some of the scenes (especially some darken ones) it's because i didn't use a Lossless format for rendering the scenes ( for lack of space ) and the quality of the Crominance and Luminance isn't quite as it should be :)

Thanx again for your posts guys, you're great !

Cheers !

I'm new to this forum as well so wassup everyone? Elrika, your video is gorram awesome! I have a request though. Do you think you can make one about Mal with Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" as the music? I think that song is pretty good for Mal. =)

Just thought I'd add my voice to those congratulating you on an excellent piece of work.

You've done great work matching the video to the music, and I like some of the filtering you've done on sections of the visuals - adds a definite feeling of polish to the final result.
