Yes, Serenity left the local dollar theatres today. It must have been a pretty popular movie to have lasted so long.
Lucky for me, I was able to catch the last showing last night. Yay! I took my friend who's been visiting from Australia with me to go see it. (I had tried to watch it at home with him, but the terd actually fell asleep! Can you believe that? How do you fall asleep in a movie like that?! It's beyond me.)
Man, the BDM is so much better on big screen! The audience we watched it with was AWESOME! Everyone lauged at the funny parts and they were all silent during the intense parts. At the end, someone even clapped! YESSS!! All my silly Oz friend could say was that it was better on big screen. He really is such a terd! (I mean that in a loving kind of way.)
Anyway, I'd just like to say congrats to our BDM and BDH's for giving us such a great movie. It converted me, and hopefully the DVD will convert many, many more people to our 'verse. Keep up the good work, Browncoats! Let's show those executives that we can make the impossible happen again. Buy those DVD's, share them with friends, and do it all over again.
Wacky fun!

Serenity has tripled my conversion rate. So many of my friends have come up and told me to see this movie called "Serenity". Then I tell them it was a show. Then they freak out and want more!
Yessir, looks like we'll be finding our way...whatever that means.

Quote:"Hear, hear" is correct. You can think of it as being short for, "Hear what that person has to say! He's got a good point there!"

Of course, "here, here" is useful too, if you happen to be calling your dog...

Oh, and Mattie? Consider yourself lucky. Serenity disappeared from the theaters here by Thanksgiving (or thereabouts). I'm just glad I have a big screen and home theater setup now -- the BDM looks mighty good on 'em.

I don't disagree on any particular point.

Yeah, I was dissappointed at how fast Serenity dissappeared from theaters. The previews for the movie prompted me to Netflix the show. I didn't want to go see the movie until I had watched all the episodes on DVD (I had never seen them before) and by the time I did, the movie had just left theaters and I had to wait another two months for the movie to come out on DVD. I keep thinking how much better it would have been in a theater.

Serenity never came to my town's theater. I had to drive 30 minutes to another theater to see it. I wanted to see it again but it was gone in just 2 weeks. Shortly after, it came to the dollar theater and it was there less than a week! They probably had to make room for that masterpiece starring Bow Wow called "Roll Bounce" or that dreadful remake of Willy Wonka. Pieces of
Mal would kick Han Solo's ass.
