Let me get this straight. I buy a poster and then I'm not allowed to sell it to someone else later?

No, you're allowed to sell it, thats what I was trying to say.
The only exception and the time you can get in trouble is whe you work at a venue where you have unlimited access to movie memorabilia for free.
