Greetings, all!
I wanted to let you know that the first two issues of the new Sirens of Cinema Magazine are chock full of Whedon-related goodness, but the second issue specifically spotlights "the Ladies of Serenity", focussing on Gina Torres and Jewel Staite.

Just wanted to give you the heads-up.
Thanks!

I don't recall ever seeing this magazine at the local bookstores, but I will be sure to look for it this week.
Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Browncoat1. We're a relaunch title, and this is just our second issue. Barnes and Noble would be your best bet for the time being. Hope you dig it. Gina gave me one of the best interviews it was ever my pleasure to conduct.

Quote:Lucky you! She didn't choose to attend the recent Flanvention or other recent cons, so you had unusual access.

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

From what she told me, she's been shooting almost continually since Serenity wrapped. Two indie films and a larger-budgeted thing all back-to-back. She gives props to the fans, though, and, like Jewel, insists that the movie would not have been made without the Firefly supporters.

To what extent are they featured?

Thanks for letting us know Mike - too bad I didn't see this earlier today as I drove right past B&N - but I will definately go look for it this weekend. Very cool you got Gina since she's been so busy. Can't wait to read what she has to say - and Jewel is always great.

Hopefully, it's hit the shelves. The holidays pushed our distributors' schedules back a bit, but I'm hearing that it's popping up in random intervals. Canada got theirs first.
Gina and Jewel were both great. We're a young publication - as I said, this is only our second issue - but featuring Amber Benson in #1 got the ball rolling for us in the "mainstream" circles and Gina's publicist really liked that we were focussing on the women as people, rather than eye-candy ala STUFF or MAXIM. Gina definitely gave me my favorite interview of the year.
