I searched on Yahoo News after going out thereon that bad link. The story I found is from http://www.syfyportal.com/ . I've been lurking for a very long time, but I want to take this chance to thank you all for pointing out where the unaired eps were and for helping to keep Firefly flying!

Whedon Says 'Firefly' Film In Works

It won't be much longer until Joss Whedon once again will have something to do other than "Angel" on The WB.

The writer, best known for creating "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," told Sci-Fi Wire that he's close to signing a deal to write and direct a feature based on his failed Fox science fiction series "Firefly."

"What's happening with that is that I'm writing a script," Whedon said. "And I have some interest. But I won't know really until I finish a draft whether or not it's genuine. We have a pretty decent shot. It's not a crazed pipe dream."

Getting a movie deal together could hinge on whether he can reassemble the cast from the series.

"Well, I can't just keep putting them on 'Angel,'" he said jokingly. "So I have to make a 'Firefly' movie so I can hang out with them more. Yes, the deal is contingent upon the cast. I couldn't go so far as to jinx (the deal) and say it's in the bag. It's not. I still have to write it really well. But there's no pressure."

Whedon also talked a little about the upcoming DVD release of the series, which will contain three unaired episodes. Whedon said the DVDs are "balls-out deluxe," including bloopers, interviews, and commentaries on most episodes by everyone, including the actors, writers, directors and Whedon himself.

"Firefly" was cancelled last year after a half dozen episodes because of sagging ratings on Fox.

It's good news ("great" will be when filming starts), but it's hard to trust an article that's off by a factor of 2! Six episodes? Ours goes to 11. (and 12 hours) :-)
