Hmmm, well different strokes and all. Sure didn't work for me. It sounded like it might have been taken from a drivers' ed safety film. GE's stuff had sparkle and character.

Can I take the middle ground? The score was good, but could have been better. The music when we first see Serenity breaking atmo and pieces start to fall off: perfect. So very incredible. The music at the end when Serenity flies off: Also very very good. All the stuff in the middle: ehhhhh, not so much. Not bad. Just could have been better.

And the acustic "Ballad of Serenity" at the end of the credits. That was awsome. I almost cried. Any tabs around for that?

And how does Mal get the idea to disguise the ship as a reaver ship from the op?

When the Op says to Mal in the wave on Serenity, "You're not a Reaver, your a human man. And you will never understand.." Right before Mal cuts off the transmission, watch his expression pick up slightly as if to say 'Bingo!'

Ah ha. Thank you. I get it now.

Has the shot Simon gave Mal been discussed anywhere? I figure Joss just put that in there to make us get all atwitter over it...

Well, it's supposed to be a standard innoculation people get when they go planetside...it's one of the hardest lines to hear/understand, but before the 'bit of a rockety ride' line, Mal tells Simon 'guess I better get innoced before we hit planetside'

Though the op told his men to "destroy it all", almost all of the monitors in Mr. Universe's "office" displayed the Miranda recording when Mal transmitted it.

I think you're confused on this point though.
We didn't see the actual "office" i.e., the place with the lovebot at any time after Mal runs the broadwave. All those lit monitors were in the generator room, I swear!

I'm 100% positive on this one, actually. Go to chapter 17, forward to 1:44:44 just as the hologram woman is saying "it isn't what we thought" and you'll see the screens in Mr. Uni's Office, then a cut *back* to Mal in the generator room hitting the control to raise the bridge.

Maybe they destroyed all the transmission equipment and didn't bother with the screens? Can't really do any damage as far as 'sending' a signal with the screens. OR the alliance is just incompetent. Maybe this was the same group of purplebellies that looked for Simon and River in "Bushwacked".....under a Placemat.....TWICE!

Something I always thought was important, but which has nothing to do with this thread is the ideal of Browncoats vs. Purplebellies.

(Someone said "purplebellies" is the reason I bring it up.)

The the Independants are named after the color of their coats the Alliance is known by the color of its armor. It really gives you an idea of the divide between the two sides of the civil war.

I can remember sitting in the theater and thinking they might actually do that. I immediately got rid of the thought, because that's just awful. Imagine my surprise when Mal said that in the outtakes!

The really scary part about that one was I couldn't remember if that specific line was in the movie or not! I kinda freaked out a little. Anyway.

"Kaylee, go find that kid who's taking a dirt nap with Baby Jesus, we're gonna need a hood ornament. Jayne, try not to steal too much of their shit!"

PIE!
