Since most of us already have the series on DVD and had already bought the movie or had it preordered, I'd reckon we pulled in all manner of newcomer. I'd say it puts us in a promising position.

I am so happy that Serenity is still #1. It has been at the top spot for a week now. Also, it seems to selling pretty well at the stores too. I gave a copy to my bro as a gift. He had never heard of the movie, but likes action scifi flicks. I just wish I knew more people who I could convert.

I'm just waiting for the sales of Wedding Crashers to drop so the 'verse can take the top two spots! That'd be a big sign to Fox that they fucked up and to Universal that they can make a lot of money from more movies.

I was in Best Buy today and they had Serenity displayed at the end of one of the first DVD aisles and Firefly was near the checkout. The prices were a bit high though-$19.99 for Serenity and $40.99 for Firefly. Maybe that's why Amazon's numbers are so high?
One good thing-we beat those pesky Penguins at Amazon and hopefully Wedding Crashers will crash real soon.

I had a hell of a time finding any copies of Serenity or even a box set in Baton Rouge the last few days... Five stores I went to I got the same response..."I was looking for a box set..." "Firefly?" "Yes, actually..." "We`re out... come back tomorrow, we get a few in every day." Living in Sacramento, I did`nt know the fan base was just as big here... good job, B.R. Browncoats!
Shiny... let`s be bad guys...

Friday, I drove to Oregon for Christmas. On my way through Medford, I stopped at Fred Meyers. They had about 2 dozen full-screen Serenity left and maybe 10 widescreen. They had a display just as you walk into the electronics area: Serenity & Firefly. (bought one of each as gifts)
When I stopped back by Sunday night - ONE Firefly set left, and about 10 full screen. No widescreen at all.
This tells me it's selling well in stores, too, not just at the Rottweiller.
I just hope it maintains after Christmas. Must figure out who else can I corrupt!

Well, the first rush is over now that every US browncoat owns at least one copy. And all those people received it as a gift won't buy another one either.
