hi,

Just wanted to post a thread about Firefly/Serenity that contained info about where you have seen it at number 1.

to start the ball rolling, JB HI-FI in Australia have the firefly box set at No.1, defending it's title against "Revenge of the Sith", "Fantastic 4" and other hits......

have a look

Ignore the actual top sellers list, even though it says todays top sellers it only seems to be updated once a week.

It's #2 in CD-WOW's 'multregion' chart ( http://www11.cd-wow.com/top75_2.php) which is where several of us Brits bought it - behind Live 8, which I think is at #1 under false pretences, as it's actually region-free!

And the Big Damn Series is at #8

It's been at Number 2 on Barnes and Noble.com since Tuesday...

They're also advertising it on their DVD front page with Battlestar Galactica.

Target.com has it in a list of 20 movies... I think it's No. 4 and Firefly's No. 12...

Firefly is also the representative image for their "Top DVD Sellers."

Ok, I was just online at BestBuy and Serenity is like 7th in the All Categories selections and is the third movie in the list in the Sci-fi genre. I'm pretty sure they are sorted there by sales from most to least because they aren't in alphabetical order. I know Serinity is still #1 on Amazon.com and Firefly is like #4. Not bad at all for a movie that grossed less than what they spent to make it. I blame the less than stellar box office results on inadequate pre-release marketting. For Firefly to be at #4 you can only attribute it to two things, 1) It's one of the best damn series to ever come out and the word is spreading exponentially now that the movie is out and 2) the boost the Sci-Fi channel gave it by SHOWING IT IN THE RIGHT ORDER (are you listening FOX? You bunch of micromanaging morons!) and the movie gave it by making people want to know more. For anyone here that has sent emails, angry or otherwise to Fox please send an email to Universal thanking them for the BDM. Joss stresses in the Visual Companion how extremely supportive the Universal execs were and how they didn't try to micromanage his efforts during the screenwriting/filming. He said they would only advise and consult but left it up to him for the final decisions. They deserve our written thanks, not just from buying the DVD.
