Aww, cos-I'm sorry your niece isn't feeling well. You better not catch it, too! You've had more than your share of illnesses this year!

You may have not meant an offense, but you did manage to call all officers "bastards". No matter... no offense taken on my part. You must have had some bad experience that you're venting about, so I can't hold that against you.
Really though, officers do not get any more respect than the enlisted folk, at least out in the civilian world. My wife's parents were both enlisted US marines, and I have tremendous respect for them.
And now, back on topic... Merry Christmas everyone!
"...does that seem right to you?"

All in good fun, all in good fun. I'm probably not well-known enough to start heaving around words like "bastard" in jest (not yet, leastways). I did know plenty of good officers in the Navy (in fact, it was an officer who had the most impact both on my career and personally, besides). My only point is that in my experience (in the Navy anyhow), good officers are quite rare. They're taught to look at us enlistedmen as almost subhuman (and they treat us accordingly). In the main, that is.
Wow...enough parentheticals in there?

I could make you one, but after I finish the line of Jayne hats I have to make after Christmas. I've got at least 3 to make.

Mmm. Fuzzy scarves.
My meeting is finally over, soon I can collapse! Yay!
The irony of it all is, I really am a bastard--just not that kind.
Crikey, I'm tired.

Oh, well, in that case, knit on. Far be it from me to interfere with the production of Jayne hats. Give them a good dose of cantankerous from me.
