Nathan Fillion should do a movie with Vince Vaughn; full blown comedy gold. The five minute gag reel is as quotable as the BDM!
MAL: You see us fight?
KAYLEE: No.
MAL: TRAAAAAAP!
WASH: You wanna fly?! Fuckin' Fly!!
MAL: *Fiddles with Controls*
WASH: I'll be in my bunk!!
MAL: Why do we have this set?
MAL: I've seen so much death.
*pauses, then dances*
MAL: Zoe, you and Simon are gonna rope em together. Five or six of em. I want em laid on out on the nose of the ship.
SIMON: Are you insane?
MAL: Put Book front and center. He's our friend; we should honour him. Kaylee, find that kid who's taking a dirt nap with baby Jesus. We need a hood ornament. Jayne! Try not to steal too much of their shit.

Yeah, there's a 13 minute version which was what they actually showed at the movie's wrap party. Nathan brought it to Serenity Squared (and correct my if I'm wrong, but I think he took it to the Flanvention too) and showed us - it makes what we actually got on the DVD look positively *boring*!! :D

I was wondering about a couple of the outtakes where they mess up and then yell "SUMMER". I keep thinking I had heard in an interview that there was an inside joke as to why they yell that, but I can't remember what it was. Does anyone know?

I lost it at the the last one there (the reaver one). One of the funnier things i've ever heard to be sure.
Just the fact that he said it in full seriousness so perfectly and kept a straight face was amazing lol

The "SUMMER!!" thing comes from that fact that (allegedly, and comically) Summer was always making mistakes... to the point that she was responsible for every mistake anyone made, even when she wasn't on set!
In truth, she wasn't as bad as some (like, say, Nathan? 
) but of such things comedy are made.
