Well, of course there will be an American "Special Edition" ... there always is. Because most Americans (myself included) will go out and spend another 25 bucks on the extra disc edition and then sell the old one back.

No worries...everything's still shiny...I'm just glad I have the DVD!

I'm a brit, I have my R1 DVD because I couldn't wait for the R2 version. I will buy the R2 version for the extras, and I will buy the R4 version for its extra extras as well.

We all love the show, let's not squabble and not start with the name calling / yah=boo-sucks playground behaviour.

since we're talking about aussie insults I have a question: is the way stingray in neighbours talks real? it sounds so made up, but great fun, I do try and use "spiggin' hufter" in conversation as much as possible.

but I'd like to know if there are folks who actually speak like that...

By the way, usually the US gets the best DVD extras, so try not ot be so bitter when we Brits get a better DVD package FOR ONCE!!!!!

I get fed up of Americans (or Yanks in British slang) who get all high and mighty about how awful the British are and about how superior they are to us Brits.............

I, for one, like Americans........... I find them out going and friendly and I often prefer that to British reserve and sarcastic sense of humour.

However, CAN YOU PLEASE STOP GOING ON ABOUT HOW YOU WON THE WAR OF INDEPENDANCE and HOW YOUR SOLDIERS CAME AND WON BOTH THE FIRST AND SECOND WORLD WARS blah blah blah blah blah .......... HOGWASH!!!!!

I have studied both US and British history, so I know what I'm talking about.

The US is a great country and champions democracy, but I think that you'll find Britain has been a democracy longer- parliament really came into power after the end of the English Civil War in 1651.

I'd just like to quote from a booklet prepared for the US soldiers coming to join in WW2, to prepare them for life in War time Britian....

" You may think of them (the English) as enemy Redcoats who fought against us in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. But this is no time today to fight over old wars again or to bring up old grievances.......it doesn't mean anything now.

The most evident truth is that in their major ways of life the British and American people are much alike. They speak the same language. They both believe in representative government, in freedom of worship, in freedom of speech,. But each country has minor national characteristics which differ. It is my causing misunderstanding over these minor differences that Hitler* hopes to make his propaganda effective....

Earlier I'd posted a snide comment trying to be facetious but it went over like a lead balloon. I was making a kidding reference to the American Revolution. While that part of history might have had some animosity between both the U.S. and the U.K. today we are allies and so are the Aussies.
Do most of the haters here suffer from long term memory loss from too many nights hitting the bong? I vividly recall in the days following 9/11 when most of our hearts here in America were breaking. What did you see in London or Sydney? You saw mobs of people with American flags waving them in support! You saw men and women crying in the streets because they grieved with us! The U.K. has held it's own in each of two world wars in the last century when the French folded like a house of cards in a stiff wind and if anyone here doubts the honor, decency and bravery of Aussies they should shut the f' up until they've read a history book about Gallipoli or go there and see how well they are treated as Americans compared to Paris, France. While many people here and abroad are angry at the U.S. because of Iraq, overall people in the U.K. and Australia will NEVER turn their backs on the U.S because they are honorable allies, not fair weather friends. They'll have our backs when times are tough. I've met so many good people from the U.K. and all the Aussies I've met were nicer and friendlier than most of my fellow Americans. God bless America, God Bless Australia, God bless the U.K. and of course God Save the Queen! Haters just shut the f' up!

No, it wasn't directed at aboriginals.

I think that JAKEOZ might have solved the problem. It did sound like an "ah" sound to my southern U.S. ears.
