Wow, that's awesome, CMS. I haven't found a church I'm comfortable with since I moved from Germany, unfortunately :( I miss the youth groups and the great functions. What I've missed at other churches, I think, is the genuine attitude I found at my last church.
I don't listen to punk, but hardcore was born from punk, so that's cool. I listen to everything from classical to jazz to industrial to classic rock to metal (mostly thrash) and hardcore, with plenty of other genres in between.
I'm glad you like the blog :) I did all the php and mysql for it myself (and the graphics and xhtml, obviously). So is the link to your LJ fine? :p

Quote:I just flashed back to Fozziwig's Christmas party in the Muppets Christmas Carol. Y'know, where the band's playing all baroque and classical, and Animal's starting to growl quietly.

I wish I could let them play it like they want, but the old people would all die of heart attacks, so we turn it down to a dull-ish roar.
FLOYD: If he goes, I'm goin' with him.
Then Animal finally loses it completely, and they segue right into this hard-rock/swing jazz thing. . .
Heck, the soundtrack to that movie's all the Christmas music I need.
There's something in the air today
That's good for everyone.
Yes, faith is in our hearts today,
We're shinin' like the sun.
And everyone is family,
We're having so much fun,
After all, there's only one more sleep 'til Christmas!
Hmm. . . Y'know, if I had the resources, "Bless Us All" would make a great Firefly/Serenity fanvid.

The sentence above makes NO SENSE to me, but that's okay. I understand that you did it all by yourself and that's shiny!
The link is fine. I may eventually go to a Friends-only blog, and then you won't be able to link it, but I'm not there yet.
Also, you lived in Germany? Cool!

Haha, well at least you tried to make sense of it. Being in the IT field, I'm used to seeing people run scared when anything technical becomes involved.
I'd make some joke about aren't-I-already-your-friend? but I know what you mean ;)
Yeah, I grew up as an army brat (both dad and step-dad were in the army, mom must like a guy in uniform ;p). I lived in Germany four (yes, 4!) different times as well as many different states spanning the US. Oklahoma is my favorite place I've lived so far. I'd move there in a heartbeat if it weren't for all the family that lives here ;(

I was a Navy Brat.
I've lived in Guam, Minnesota, Maryland, Cailifornia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Florida and now South Carolina.
Guam was my favourite, followed by California. I don't much like the east coast, though I did love living in Philly. It's a great city.
Nearly every Army Brat I've ever met has lived in Germany.
And I have declared today I BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW Day, so share something that you bet we didn't know about you.
I bet you didn't know that I can count in binary.

Wow, those are some cool places to live. I've lived in (in order) Kansas, New York, Germany, Washington State, Germany, Oklahoma, Germany, Florida, Germany, and now back in New York. I went to college in Florida and the last time in Germany was only for a few months.
/me quakes at CMS' declaration
you can count in binary? that's hot ;p
Hmm, so what does no one know about me...i once earned the nickname snake (at a college during a summer program for smart kids...i'z iss smert!) because I only ate once a week while there, more or less. One extra large pepperoni pizza every Sunday, haha.

Gee...who could that band possibly be?
Honestly, if you're as dedicated to a woman as you are to your band...well, let me say, that would be one very lucky woman!!
I tend to be, but the slots not taken right now. Accepting applications.

You didn't do the whole eyes roll back in your head and dislocate the jaw thing did you? Cause that truly would be disgusting to watch, fasinating, but disgusting.
And for the record, the correct spelling is SMRT, not SMERT. As in I R smart, S M R T, Smart.

I think binary is only hot to computer people. But it's come in handy. I caught a joke on a poster once. I don't remember what it said now, but it had something to do with 10 meaning 2 and not "ten".
The weird thing about learning binary. I didn't mean to, but my friend's husband was trying to explain it to me one night. It just didn't make any sense and I was just kind of half listening. Then, one night, weeks later, I woke out of a dead sleep and suddenly, binary made perfect sense! The next time I saw the guy, I showed him how I could count and he was so proud. And then he tried to explain the binary alphabet. Still haven't figured that one out yet.
So LMD: how many times have you moved? Have you ever counted? I'm currently at 26.
Which FL college did you go to?
And only one meal a week? I'd die. I feel woozy if I go 6 or 7 hours without eating. But I'm a nibbler. I usually eat 5 or 6 times a day.
