Well, this is an opportunity to expand on the Terminator universe and to fill out on all the stuff that T3 left out. They better not ruin it.

Damn folks, give 'em a chance to at least shoot the thing before you start evicerating it. An exceptional ammount of work goes into the launch of a new series, whether you dig the premise or not.
Besides, how many of you knew how talented the Firefly cast would be before you say it? (Unless by some chance you were already a huge fan of "that guy from Barney Miller" or "the other Private Ryan".)

Firefly was a brand new show set in a new universe. Terminator already has an established continuity with characters that we all know and love, there's less room for error. From what we know so far, they're not going to have any of the people who were involved in the movies doing the show and that's a very bad sign. That would be like if they made a new Firefly show but with completely different writers and new actors for the same characters.

Hmmm... interesting question.
It has the potential to be great - with the right crew and cast, but Fox seems to have a set idea of what their sci-fi should be and a good version of this won't be it
.
So I guess that means I choose A.
(Although I have a feeling that this may never make it past pilot stage anyway - if it ever gets that far).

I thought Claire Danes was magnificent in Terminator 3, no Sarah Conner, but still very good. On the whole, I liked Terminator 3. It was not where near the first Terminator, but still pretty good.
As far as this fox show, this is the first I’ve heard of it, and chances are I won’t watch it. I predict it will last a season. Without Hamilton, it will have very little credibility. And what exactly is the story? The first movie made it quite clear what Sarah Connor’s roll is and it really ended with birthing John Connor, beyond that it’s just a story about a gun-toting lunatic fugitive who thinks the world is going to end. It’s going to take some really strong writing to make that work. It will need impeccable continuity and plausible justification, and I don’t think they can pull it off. But I said the same thing about Smallville. What do I know?

I would imagine as it would be sci fi-ish, Fox would not keep it an entire season. Add to that the fact that Linda Hamilton will not be in it & it is pretty much doomed to sink fast.
How much sci fi could be in it anyway. If there is no Terminator running around in it, with the exception of the rare flash back or dream sequence, it will be just an action-adventure show.
Count me out.

What about all those Terminators between T2 and T3 that weren't mentioned in T3?
I think if we're all lucky, it won't get past the pilot stage.

I loved T1 and T2 but for some reason never even thought once about seeing T3. I guess I liked the idea of the premise being complete after those excellent first two films.
T3 (from what I've been told) killed the horse. Now a TV series will attempt to flog it some.
Here's my advice to Fox should they run with this project:
Rather than "fill in the blanks" between all of the T movies, why not just re-imagine the premise for episodic television? Start it over and then adhere to one theory of linear time-disruption or the other. Hire some talented actors (don't limit yourself to the caucasian catalog model types.. Point Pleasant anyone?) and bring aboard as many Mutant Enemy alumns as you can find to write the series. With the right show-runner to helm it all and keep the vision in sight you just might have something with T-series.
As for scheduling... of all networks Fox has the most disruptions (MLB playoffs, American Idol). This means Fox needs to practice the zen art of patience MORE than the other networks. So, Fox... stick with your new shows for an entire season and let them get their sea legs. Don't expect American Idol type numbers every damned time for that is unreasonable.
And, most of all... stop letting trained apes program your TV schedule. Especially without their training. I would accuse your programming department of having ADD, but I think that would be overestimating their attention span.

Let me see here, T3 sucked, and T2 is becoming outdated. Yet somehow FOX and all their brilliant wisdom option a potentially aweful show that will more than likely cost them a fortune just to produce, yet Firefly is not brought back? Where's the logic???
All my bets are on that this show will be extremely horrible, yet somehow people will watch it (for some unknown reason), at least for a little while, and will either be swiftly cancelled, or last one to two years.
