New floor!! Yay!!! As promised, it is Friday, thus a day for a new floor!!

Catch up on this thread here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=15184&m=212225#212225

This is the 4th floor, where we will ask Haidon how exactly we can post the Juggling Gosling emoticon (submit it to Haken too so everyone can enjoy it, share and enjoy!!).

I will rehash ScorpionRegent's Question to start us off on our HAPPIER floor:

Quote:

New topic: places, If you could travel anywhere where would you go? Why? Have you been there before? If so, what happened? If not, why would you go there? Do you know people there/ Tell us about them if you dare. This is a sci fi chat room, these places, need not be real.

My Real Place? In Aswan on the Nile River in Egypt. At the Cataract Hotel sipping tea, puffing on a hookah and eating little sandwiches while overlooking the botanical gardens, the felucas sailing past (Egyptian sail boats), seeing the granite islands covered in birds and seeing the sun hide behind the mausoleum of Muhammed Ali (different one). I've been there before and at sunset, I do not think there is a more beautiful place on earth. I don't necessarily need to be there with anyone, but I wish I could take my mother, she would love it (but has anxiety/panic issues so she can't).

My Sci-Fi place? Let me think on that a while...

Welcome to the new floor!

Good morning all! Come with me on my vacation -

--- everything blurs into ---

a chartered sailboat on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. a friendly crew to drive the boat and let you help if you're so inclined. 6-8 guests sleep on the deck under the stars, wake up in the morning and roll into the blue water. Visit beaches and ruins and little towns, and party with Aussies on neighboring boats as you meander along the coast ...

--- blurs back to your local reality ---

I had a friend who did this. It will be me someday. Oh yes it will.

I've done that.

They're known as Gullets. And yes I recommend you do it someday. They're amazing! The food is always fresh too usually caught that day from the sea!

One night we had Crabs, Lobsters and Snapper cooked for us on deck under the midnight moon. This after a hard day's loafing about secluded beaches, and swimming so much that salt crystals would form all over your body... Man what a holiday.

I don't like all this talk of exciting far-away places.

It's making me not like where I am even more!

Okay CallMeSerenity, if you could use the portal to go anywhere or see anything what would it be?? Come on, besides the secret hidey place of nice guys. You could go to France, or Mars or The Klondike or wherever. Sometimes, it's nice to have a Fantasy Friday!

I would rent a boat and go to a deserted tropical island with my wife so we could run around naked and make love on the beach, whilst our veggie-burgers cooked over a big fire.

Hey! Get that satelite camera outta here!!!

4th floor! That's a great thing to wake up to.

Where would I go for real? Someplace up in coastal New England. Maine, most likely. My dad and I took a trip up there a couple years ago. Best seafood I've ever had, and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Plus, it's Stephen King country.

My sci-fi place to go? Floston Paradise (that floating cruise-liner from The Fifth Element).

I've always wanted to see Maine. I've always wanted to see what inspires Stephen King to write such macabre stories.

I'm so with you on the Flotson Paradise, I wanna see Pavalaguna.

We'll make a trip of it sometime. Maybe when that portal gets figured out.
