Actually, most everyone here's been very supportive of us latecomers. Not like at Highlander where we eat the "afterschool timeslot discoverers" for breakfast.
I like it here. I think I'll stay.
And I think I'll order more box sets as Christmas presents, too. :D

Um you can buy both together for under $50 right now on Amazon! Then you can get both for gift-giving, and get free shipping. It's better than just buying the TV show. Also the TV show has a 2 year head start on the Serenity sales, so sorry don't think it's gonna catch up in a few days.
BUT Serenity is their #4 ranked Sci-fi/Fantasy movie pick for gift giving!!

Not when I've already planned my day around it! 
(Also Amazon.ca is still charging $27.27(!) for it, so there's no way I'm ordering it online - even without the pre-Xmas mail delays)

Like I said I tried that, but you can't check the box that says "ship items as they become available" and still get free shipping. You need to check "ship in as few packages as possible" or whatever it is. I think that means waiting until both are available so they can ship together. I didn't want to wait until Serenity was available in order to get the series.

Ain't that the truth? I was all ready to volunteer to work Christmas to ensure I get the 20th off, fortunately I got it off anyways.

I preordered Serenity BEFORE I saw the movie.
I am a latecommer sci-fi convert too...
I got the DVD set on a Tuesday, watched all of it by Friday night, orderd the movie and show soundtrack CD on amazon, won the darkhorse comic series #1/2/3 on an ebay auction and went to bed. Got up Saturday and saw the movie at a 2nd/3rd run theater - $2 matinee...

:) I was mostly kidding. Mostly. It just seems that whenever Highlander runs in the after-school spot, we get the teen-age, "Omigod, Hilunder is SOOOOOOOO Kooooool!" crowd.
