Some folks have suggested that Unification day is September 20th, the day that "Train Job" was first aired. Dave Berry's website points to a little known fact, which links here.

September 19th is Talk like a Pirate day. The day before U-day. Hmmmmm.

I'll have to send this tidbit to my brother. 19 Sept is his BD and he'll get a kick out of this method of celebration. :-)
Also, what is the appropriate browncoat way to "celebrate" U-Day? I don't have an Alliance bar in the neighborhood to go make trouble in.
"Appears they've canceled the show and we're still here. What does that make us?"
"Big damn junkies, Sir!"
"Ain't we just."

Is there a FOX affiliate near you? Cause I think that would count.

Are we talking pool cues and petty theft here?!
Hmmm...I'd rather go to a party with a buffet table and, if someone would pay me to go, THAT would be extra shiny!

Just picked up on this thread... sorry for the delayed response...
I just sent an e-mail out to my fellow Browncoats trying to organize a U-day celebration.
I reckon we might get together and mix up some of those refreshments posted on the recipe page of this here website. Then we might be inclined to look at a couple of favorite episodes of the show in the company of those we work with that fought against Unification... and even some of them that din't.
Figured we'd end up pullin some Crazy Ivans in the residential areas just to lighten things up a bit for them that ain't much for celebrating on U-day.
What do you all have planned?

Just thought I'd share this little tidbit of information - Sept 20 is also our fearless Cappy's birthday (according to the promo pilot's license I have). Another reason to celebrate!
If my vacation plans are still a go, I'll be celebrating in New York!

HELLO! The browncoats lost the war! Why the hell would we be celebrating U-Day?!?!?! If anything we should be mourning it. And a better day to mourn would have to be December 20th, the day the episode of Serenity ran which marked the last time Firefly was shown on TV in the US.

Check me out on WinMX, I have all Firefly episodes in SVCD format including the 3 episodes recently aired on SciFi UK.

Come on guys, -=ZERO=- is right, U-Day is no reason for celebration!
Besides, “THE DAY IS A VISTIGIAL MODE OF TIME MEASUREMENT, BASED ON SOLAR CYCLES. IT’S NOT APPLICABLE.”
Does anybody really know what time it is?

Zero, we don’t even know what day U-day is, we just want to celebrate the day Firefly first aired and I think U-day is the only holiday we know of in the FF ‘verse. Also, we put the blue sun symbol on our tee-shirts and as our little picture thingy on Fffans.net, like yourself, even though it probably stands for the government that beat our Independents.
