You Ever HAD a Show KILLER Moment?

You ever had a show killer moment? What I mean by this is, have you ever been watching a show, and you were enjoying it, and then all of a sudden, the writers intoduce something into the show that basically murders it for you?
My Show Killer moment happened when I was watching Enterprise. Enterprise wasnt the best show on Earth, but it was interesting and I was starting to really enjoy it until the writers in their collective wisdom decided that it would be a good idea to have an episode of Enterprise where they meet the Borg.
The BORG???
That killed the show for me, and I stopped watching it, and wasnt too surprised when later I found out that Enterprise got cancelled.

I believe this is referred to as "Jumping the Shark". It's a phrase that got it's origin from HAPPY DAY, when the Fonz jumped over a shark filled tank while wearing waterskis. The "Jump the Shark" moment is a moment over the course where after that, it's all downhill from there.
But as for KILLER moments, I have two that stick out in my mind.
1. ALIAS- The intro of Lauren in Season 3. At first, I thought they were going to turn her into The Evil Fiance, which to me is the lowest of all cliches. For those who don't know, The Evil Fiance is when in a movie or tv show when there are two characters in love, one obstacle they have to go through is one of the two's evil fiance/boyfriend/girlfriend. It doesn't matter if they are hurt or insulted by this romance, since they are either jerks who never cared in the first place or conveniently die or go away so that the two can finally be together. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I can say that I felt that at first. But after a while, it seemed like they were avoiding that cliche. They made her a real person. But then, when after Syd's two year absence has been revealed, they decide to turn Lauren into an evil bitch after all. And at that moment, when they had the dramatic reveal that she was the sniper on the roof, I said to myself, "OK. That's it. They've run out of ideas.
2. THE SMPSONS- I can't believe there are people out there who still consider this show to be the funniest thing on tv. This show died with the episode "Saddlesore Galactica" on Feb 6th, 2000. It's the ep where Bart gets the punk racehorse and Homer goes to Jockey-Land. When I saw that, I realized that they're grasping at straws and pulling stuff out of their ass. For something as ingenious as THE SIMPSONS to devolve to something that low, it's just screaming for it to be over, as opposed to going on forever.

That 70's Show... first episode of this season.
I was gonna deal with Eric and Kelso moving, but that Josh Meyers guy and the stripper can't act or deliver a comedic line to save their life.
I can't believe they killed off Bret Harrison's character to introduce these two fools.
PS- It was hysterical when they killed off that character, but the replacements suck.

My show-killer moment? The first episode of The X-Files Season 9, when Mulder leaves Scully and his son "to keep everyone safe". HELLO?! I realize the writers had to come up with some way to explain David Duchovny's absence, but there were several alternatives that wouldn't involve such an incredibly lame-ass excuse.

Being a devotee of everything Trek, I didn't find issue with the Borg ep. In fact, it was one of the few rare times Berman and Braga were able to tie the Trek cannon into their mishandling of the Enterprise storyline.
Finish watching the series, and then come to the final season 4 ep. Keep in mind, Manny Coto and crew made all the eps of season 4 which were some of the best in the whole cannon. But, alas, we come to the final ep of season 4, written by the dynastic duo. You'll hate the idiot twins as I do when you see how the 4-season long relationship between Trip and T'Pol ends (and they had the nerve to call it a "Valentine" to the fanbase they hated). Felt more like vengeance. Hell... even Jolene Blalock (T'pol) had the nerve to come out and be critical of it. Criticism such as hers is usually rewarded with a 1-way trip to the hollywood blacklist.

Generally, any NBC show that's hyped as "a very special..." episode. At that point, I know it's over.
"Medium" doing product placement for that stupid Geisha movie - and doing a LOT of placement of it! The horrible 3-D episode last week just confirmed it: that show's done, at least for me.

O_o I guess I'll have to see it to believe it qn they killed off a character? How? I'm a good amount of seasons behind. I can only manage to watcha few b/c I forget that they come on Wednesdays.

Enterprise: In a shameless TNG rip-off, Hoshi is believed killed by a transporter accident, but has really only turned invisible and has to stop some aliens from blowing up the ship. In a twist that somehow makes this shambling retread even more pointless, she turns out to have dreamed the whole thing. 
Simpsons: Homer is raped by a panda, after which Mr. Burns showers a Thanksgiving Day parade in fish guts for no particular reason.

The talking hamburger in season 3 of "Angel" made me cringe. I darn near gave up right then and there.

Very entertaining web site. Sections devoted to just about evry show that you can think of (including FIREFLY), and many that you've never heard of. The Borg is the 5th most popular response for ENTERPRISE.
