Just recently have I really gotten into Firefly. The only one I haven't seen so far (because I have only seen them as reruns on SciFi) has been War Stories. I started watching them when I stayed home sick a while back, and they were good, amazingly so. And so I got hooked and dragged friends and family to the movie. Which was equally good.

And now I'm starting to take apart the internet with my trusty Google to find Firefly sites. Not to mention Mandarin words, because I want to know what the hell they are saying. (and yes, I found the many threads on that here already )

So yeah. Hi kids. What's shakin?

If you're interested in the chinese on the show, I highly recommend purchasing Finding Serenity edited by Jane Espensen (screen writer for "Shindig"). If I recall, the book includes a listing of every chinese phrase in the series with pronunciation guide.

Hi, JustLikeSundayMorning

I got interested in Firefly because of SciFi too.
I got addicted quick. It's such a good show. I HAD to buy the DVD set, then when I wanted to loan them to someone so they could fall in love too, I found I couldn't part with them, so I had to purchase another set. 3 sets later... and another one to be bought soon, to share with my brother, I'm hooked!

You are gonna love "War Stories"! My daughter considers it the best episode.

I have "Finding Serenity" (the book) and after the holidays, I plan to watch the episodes and try to teach myself some of the Mandarin sayings using the book to help me. I highly recommend this book, for the Chinese sayings and because it's just such a good read, about a subject I love!

More "Whoas" comin' your way, I promise.

'Cause how you get there is the worthier part. -- Book

Just curious which moment you were referring to in particular? Because there are many pretty incredible/unforgettable moments/scenes in that episode:) :(

Hey, welcome!!

Always good to see new faces. And you just know once you start watching Firefly, you'll be addicted.

Question, not really related to anything, but... given your username... are you a No Doubt fan?

I keep thinking about Book; "understood" (and everything around that phrase). Priceless! :)

You were wondering about The Particular Moment? Can't spoiler it, of course, but

When the...are all...and there's just...left and...no hope...and out of nowhere...can't look
...can stop me.

Especially powerful if you haven't seen the BDM, because it really just came out of nowhere.

Considering how much the rest of the episode had wound you up already, it was a real stunner and the sort of thing to make you jump up on the sofa and whoop (except not in that deeply naff Tom Cruise...just-got-myself-another-bird, even-though-to-be-honest-this-one-is-not-much-of-a-looker-either-note-to-kick-self-for-breaking-up-with-Nicole...way).

Don't tease me. You know what I do for a living.
