According to an email FIREFLYFANS.NET received from Mutant Enemy President Christopher Buchanan, Mutant Enemy's office is relocating to the FOX lot. A sign that perhaps Mutant Enemy and FOX are still on good terms? Hmmm...

More series from all the Mutant Enemy scribes? I hope so.

Well, tho "Angel" is shot on the Paramount lot, and "Buffy" used to shoot in Santa Monica, all of the ME shows were made by 20th Century Fox television, so it makes sense that the offices would move to the Fox lot. Is has nothing to do with the FOX broadcast network--just 20th Century Fox television.

ljc is right.

twentieth century fox television and fox network are two separate entities, even if they share a chairman and a parent company.

twentieth century fox television sells series to all six networks and fox network buys series from other studios.

joss/mutant enemy have a deal with twentieth century fox television. he still has i think at least one, maybe two series to go on that deal. who do you think pays for the mutant enemy offices and staff? it's not out of his personal pocket.

mutant enemy is probably moving because angel will stay at paramount and buffy is no longer in production so there is no reason to stay in santa monica. twentieth century fox television will need to use the buffy stages for new tv series production, and they will need the mutant enemy offices for the new series production teams.

so no conspiracy. joss has a television deal with twentieth and now he has a new deal with universal for the movie. he still has an obligation to develop new television series, and it is an overall deal for his services which means twentieth provides office space for his production company. meanwhile, the universal deal is not an overall, just for one picture. so no office space for his production company.

sometimes office space is just office space.

That aside, thanks for the info. Exactly what I was looking for, minus the whining.
