Ok, all you GOD DAMN lucky dudes and dudettes who got to go to the Serenity Squared Convention....
(in very offhand, deadpan sorta way)....what was it like, who did you see, did you have the best freakin' time of your life? (not, that im sayin I think it would have been great 'n all,...just askin...you know...casual like... )

It was fantabulously shiny! Nathan, Jewel, Sean, Summer, and Morena were all present and accounted for. Plus, Christina (Saffron) and Jonathan (Tracey) were there having a blast. Lots of talks ran overtime. Jonny got wasted during his communion of the Church of the 11th Finger and dropped his trousers. Nate made Sean leave the room. Then Sean made Nate leave the room. Oh, gee, this doesn't make any sense... I'll be back to post when I'm more coherent... All the ladies were beautiful! I got pics and autographs and ... wow, I've got to sleep now. Can we post pictures here?

I was there!

Okay, the opening ceremony started off perfectly. We were all expecting Summer, Nathan, Jewel, Christina and Sean. So Neil Roberts, the MC, began to introduce the guests. He said something along the lines of "Now, our first guest started off in ballet. [we all assume Summer, naturally] He's one of Joss' hat tricks. [JONATHAN?! IS JONATHAN HEEERE?!]" and Jonathan came out with a typically funny speech. He left, and I can't remember the order, but Christina, Sean and Jewel were introduced as well. Christina seemed really shy, and Sean seemed a little shocked at how many people were there. He had his hand on his chest and said something along the lines of "Oh, man. Can you guys hear that?! That's my heart. I'm... this is... wow." Then Neil said "Our next lady comes from a very classical background. [alarm bells went off. Morena?!]" and of course, on comes MORENA, surprise guest number two, seconds later. Then Nathan and Summer were introduced.

Following that was the meet and greet. It was greeat. I found Matt (PsychicRiver) and was talking to him for a while, when suddenly he was like "Turn around." "What?" "Turn around!" so I did and nearly walked into Sean, he put his hand on my arm to stop me from walking into him, and I was like "... *stares. Long pause.* Hi!" Luckily Matt swooped in and rescued me while I remembered how to speak. (Love ya, Matt!) We talked about nurses and he told me his mother's a nurse and that he thinks nurses are smarter than doctors. Then this guy I was also talking to gave him a stuffed zebra. We talked about more stuff, then I ended up bumping into Christina and discussing... I don't even remember what, I think it might've been heels. Then I bumped into Jonathan at the bar. He introduced himself and I said that I'd seen him last week, and he had a vague, drunken memory of playing video games. Theeeen... I bumped into some girls off another board (is Rach on this board?) and we wandered over to Nathan to present him with an engraved brick that Rach had put in at Sunderland Stadium. Then we came across Morena, talked to her for *ages* about anything and everything. When Morena walked off, Jewel came over to say hi to me and the guy I was talking to (can't for the life of me remember his name, but I think Matt knows him?) and remembered me from Ireland. We were talking about Million Dollar Baby and some other random stuff. Theeen... the Rachels and I had to go find someone. So that was FUN.

Party was... well, party.

Next morning I got up for the 9am photos with Sean, Jewel and Summer. Had one with each of them. They were lovely, of course. And I got to hug Sean! Every girl was walking up and tentatively putting their hands on his shoulder and I was like "... hey! How you doin?" "Great thanks, you?" "Good!" "So, can I hug you for the photo? It'll look great!" "Of course you can!" Then he hugged me... and of course the photographer wasn't ready so we were just stood there for like two minutes chatting. That made my DAY. I came out of there so hyperactive.

The talks I'll go over in another post. The autograph session... the first one I went to was the Summer, Nathan, Jonathan, Neil one. Queued for almost an hour to get in there. I ran through Jonathan and Neil really quickly. Nathan was relatively fast, we had a quick chat at the desk. The Summer queue though, man... it was longer than the entrance queue. She was lovely though, chatting and being very sweet to everyone. Though, she ran over by an hour so decided not to attend the fancy dress competition and got some rest instead. And before the autograph session I bumped into Jonathan in the hallway and ended up talking to him really quite randomly cause he was procrastinating.

The fancy dress competition was incredible! The winners were... a girl in a full sized Serenity costume, a young girl as reaver-slayer River, a troop of Alliance Reaver fighters, and a girl who... well, it's hard to explain. Man, I would've stepped over my own Grandmother just to go. I mean partying... with some of the actors of one of my favorite series...

Man, I'm too late for everything. I get into the series too late to have seen it on TV, but also too late to have found out about this and weasel my mom into letting me go. Seriously, how often does anything like this happen?

Oh well. Still happy for you lucky bas- I mean, lucky wonderful people who got to go.

They're happy for us? We're obviously not making them jealous enough.

I'll do a longer blog later but I have to mention how great the Serenity gag reel is. "Summer!"

Oh and Sean is able to lay the smackdown on Nathan. Who'd have thunk it?

It goes to show how great it was that, despite me really not being in the best of form, I still had a good time.

Great to meet many of you, apologies for my absence at several fun sounding bits and... well, again, again!

yes i went!
firstly i wanna say it was great to meet all of you that were there. this was my first ever con and everyone i met was so friendly and didnt turn me away and talked to me loads and that really made my weekend!

the hightlights of my weekend were definitely the talks and q+a sessions. to be honest i hadnt really been that bothered about christina being there but her q+a session was really sweet and interesting. she seemed really nervous at first but then really seemed to get in to it.
my favourite talk was the nathan and summer one. nathan is so quick and funny and kept making fun of summer and teasing her i couldnt stop laughing.
id heard that sean was supposed to be really reserved about cons but he seemed to really get into it and was so damned funny. i wish i could remeber quotes to tell you all.
what really made the crowd make a noise though was when somebody asked the question if any of the cast knew what would happen in terms of plot if another series got made or another film. nathan quickly started bragging that they knew a lot of secrets, they knew books past, they knew inaras secret, they knew stuff about the alliance, they knew what inaras vile in the box was all about. and they laughed and smiled smugly and said they werent gonna tell us any of it cuz thats for joss to do.

the fancy dress parade was amazing. the girl who won dressed up as a naked mal carrying yo-saff-bridge in a dumpster - you NEED to see the photos to get it! it was so sweet as the cast took pictures of all the contestents and genuinly seemed to love it all.

nathan had brought over the serenity gag reel for its first screening which got shown twice on the saturday night. absolutely hi-larious. all i can say is i will never be able to watch the scene where mal says "did you see us fight? no. Trap!" without laughing ever again.

the communiion with jonathon was amazing, he is such a funny and DRUNK guy. i had the smell of whiskey on my forehead all day. hes very sweet and really throws himself into it all.

on the last day summer seemed so damned tired i felt so sorry for her.

i had to miss the closing ceremony though, so i want details from people! gosh im tired

I am jealous - so you're all doing a great job makin all of us green - but I'm also happy because if you weren't there, there wouldn't be other ones which I will get to someday!
