Okay, so, feel free to give me horrible ratings for making a parody of our beloved song, but I'm in college, and this seemed to fit my experiences today...
This to be sung to the same tune as the Jayne song:
"Doom!/The paper of Doom!/It took over an hour just to get research done/Then I had to make copies/-about a ton/My hate for it now/ain't hard to explain/The paper that killed me/The paper called Doom!//This paper is gonna take about ten pages/And I don't even know how to start/It's going to be due on Monday/If not, then grade will break my heart//I think:"Why did you have to be so long, Doom? You can't crush me under your heel!"/So I found all those books and I highlighted like mad/And now I'm ready to type!/Two days left to go for the paper of Doom!/My research is done and I'm ready to type!/My hate for it now, ain't hard to explain!/The hardest paper ever/The paper of Dooom!"
(okay, so if it doesn't match up syllabicly and such, I'm sorry...I was trying to sing the Jaynestown song in my head...)

UPDATEIMIFICATION:
I finished aforementioned Essay o' Doom! Take that, music history!!! *muahahaha*

It's a VERY close match to "The Hero of Canton." In fact it pretty much describes how I've felt about the college papers I've had to write. though, I've never written one that was longer than five pages!

i love it!

i made a parody of this song for my chemistry teacher when i visited him at the beginning of the year telling him how much i hated chemistry and how glad i was it was over. the chorus was about how sad i was that i was bad at it because i liked him. it was sweet . . . but not as hot as yours!

That pretty much sums up my dumb research paper I'm writing at this very moment. If anyone could help me with a web site all about early influences of Japanese Buddhism, it would be great. God, I hate university papers...

I believe this site:

http://philtar.ucsm.ac.uk/encyclopedia/easia/geness.html

Has a TON of info on early influences of Japanese Buddhism.

Thanks a lot man. I am grateful for the site, which is turning out to be pretty useful for my gorram essay. I've been having a ruttin hard time with it, and my prof isnt as useless as most profs are, but still is pretty useless like the lot of them are. I mean, what the hell are they payed for anyways?!?
