Fight Club. I was expecting it to be a generic comedy about an illegal boxing club. I was not prepared for the most clever, subtle and hard-hitting social satire I've ever seen. Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

"Gorramit Mal... I've forgotten my line."

Serenity. Before I saw the movie, I had no idea what I was missing out on. I immediately bought the Firefly DVD set and literally did nothing but sit in front of my tv until I had seen every episode and special feature on the DVDs. Then I needed more so I went searching and ended up finding this site.

Moulin Rouge - Musicals normally bore me. But this was just a beautiful film. Emotional and Inventive.

Playing by Heart - Caught half of it on TV when I couldn't sleep with a fever. Obsessed about it and ordered it on DVD from Amazon. Angelina Jolie, Sean Connery, Ryan Phillipe, Jon Stewart and Jay Mohr all give grand performances.

RE 1 and 2 -- surprised it didn't suck total ass, so i enjoyed it for what it was , a decent video game movie with a crapload of action.

Chronicles of Riddick-- didn't think a Desiel movie would be good.

Doom -- pretty good videogame movie with a twist at the end.

Donnie Darko. The summary on the DVD case sounded dumb.

Eurotrip

I thought it was going to be another dumb teen road trip movie, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable. I knew it would kickass after the song at the party, Scotty Doesn't Know. I was on the floor I tells ya!

Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigilo

Galaxy Quest

Not much of a Tim Allen fan so I avoided it at first. GF finally convinced me to watch it and it was the most enjoyable film I had seen in a long time.

Tony Shaloub was the one who really cracked me up in GALAXY QUEST.
