Caldeen, that sounds like you haven't installed BitTorrent. Have you? Without it, you just get a small pointer file.
You can download BitTorrent from http://osdn.dl.sourceforge.net/bittorrent/bittorrent-3.2.1.exe or visit the BitTorrent site at http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/
Doubleclick the .exe file to install it. Then go back to physicschick's web page and click on each of the links to start a real download... of course, it's down again at the moment.

BitTorrent++ is IMHO the best Windows client to date. It's a matter of taste, tho.

Oh, and a big "Thanks for putting up those downloads" to all who, well, put up those downloads. ;)

I am working on an editing project using Firefly video, and I would be grateful if I could get access to the video of the episodes as you describe them. The project is described here:
http://www.pbgaines.com/firefly/
and I would be happy to pay cost.

I would expect these to be up on Kazaa and WinMX early next week.

Since it looks like PhysicsChick's site will be down for a while, can folks who have downloaded her .torrent files email them to me? I'll put them up on an a different (and hopefully more reliable) BitTorrent server.
Send just the .torrent files to me@aaronsw.com
Thanks!

First of all, let me express my amazement and gratitude for this site and all those contributing to it. I'd thought for quite some time I was "very much alone out here."
Second, oh happy day, I have more Firefly to watch. Except that I can't find anything but Message on Kazaa, and the bitTorrent site - as mentioned previously - isn't up. So does anyone anywhere know where we can get these episodes?
I, like I imagine anyone else here, am perfectly willing to host the torrents, if only to earn the right to watch the episodes. So if there's /anything at all/ I can do to help out, please, let me know; I have several high-capacity webservers at my disposal, and enough spare time to kill a cow, whose tolerances for spare time are, as you can imagine, quite high.

i've downloaded the VLC player but my "message" mpg (which i got from LJC's site) is still not working :( i'm on a mac. when i double click on the VLC document it says "the application program that created it cannot be found."
what else can i do? is there anybody out there who can convert it the files to run in "normal" quicktime? i remember the gag reel played OK in quicktime ...
kat
Hi Kat, got your e-mail, sorry to hear that the free MPEG-2 players from versiontracker.com didn't work for playing "The Message" on your Mac.
I couldn't stand having the episode just sit on my desktop so I found the missing Quicktime component at Apple's site ( http://www.apple.com/quicktime/buy/mpeg2playback.html, if you're interested) and purchased it. It plays fine now.
I was willing to pay $20. just to see one episode of a T.V. show that Fox cancelled. How stupid does that make one of us ?
(Um, I can safely ask that among you guys and be assured of your choice, right ?)

While not as nice as QuickTime, I've found VLC to play almost any file. (Although often the controls won't work properly and other weird things will happen.) Download it for Mac OS X here:

KatsinNuYork had posted that she tried the VLC player and it didn't work, so I decided to go the more expensive route and avoid weird things.
Moot point though now, just saw LJC has made a .AVI format version available and had no problems playing that on my mac.
thanks for the thought though !

I get: Address lookup of "ftp.hitechgadgets.net port 21" failed. It may be misspelled, or your computer may not be connected to the network or Internet.
Also check that your DNS and local name servers are properly configured and responding.
I am definitely on the internet and it's not misspelled since I pasted it from your mail.
But I have no idea what I should do to my DNS and local name servers.
Btw - I'm seeding HoG on http://www.tvtorrents.com/
I tried to seed The Message, but I can't get it to work. Will try again tomorrow.

Would you consider making a divx encode from the originals? It'd be much smaller to download, and can be converted to svcd without a quality loss (as opposed to the other way around).
Either way, thanks a ton for getting these out there!
