Presuming that the movie gets the greenlight sometime next year or eary 2007, it would probably take about a year to make (including post production).
And then there's the individual cast member's schedules. I'm hoping that they all get a LOT of work because of Serenity/Firefly.
We probably wouldn't see a sequel till Fall of 2008. (Remember, 2006 is just a month and a half away.)
Wonder Woman will not take a back seat.
Joss is already working on it, it's in pre-production.
"Goners" is also in the pipeline for Joss.
I've read somewhere that because of all of this love Joss is getting, Tim Minnear would possibly direct a Serenity sequel.

One more thing i would like to throw in. If any browncoats lives in or near Amarillo,Texas and would like to see Serenity again (its coming back to a theater near my house with subtitles) send me an email at benneh15@yahoo.com or post on this forum.
Would love to meet other browncoats. I have never met another browncoat before, no one that i know of share the same pasion for it.

I just want to say that I am somewhat new to the Firefly 'verse. Like a lot of people, I didn't give firefly the chance it deserved when it was on fox, but a friend of mine said that I HAD to see Serenity. After I saw it I immediately bought Firefly on DVD. I fell in love with both the film, and moreso with the show. I KNOW that something more will come of Firefly, whatever it is, another movie, a new season, anything. So many of us in the world need it. And no amount of fan-fiction or RPGs will ever fill that need.

Yeh, I just discovered Firefly recently too. I don't watch TV--don't have the attention span to sit through commercials--I discovered Firefly through Netflix. Of course I went out and bought the DVD set immediately. I really love the series, and the movie--although he shouldn't have killed Wash--but I want more. Waahhh!

Let me be more clear. What I am saying is that if Serenity ends up doing well enough to warrant a sequel, which I think it just might, Joss suddenly has two other projects he's working on for Universal. I would like it to get greenlit and be ready in a few years, but if it has to wait for two other movies I think Universal might as soon cut bait then wait too long.
But that is where another director would come in, hopefully someone of Joss's choosing. Even if it wasn't of his choosing I would think Joss would be involved enough that his vision wouldn't get skewed. In fact I would bet money he would rather have it not be made than have it be different from his vision.
