That's what I meant. The "pond" is the Atlantic Ocean.

How many days do we have to go yet?

Since I don't have a BDP (rats, sold out before I even knew about the BDF-vention), I'm thinking maybe an early matinee on Friday. With any luck, and a theater close to the hotel, I/we could be back by 3:00 or so, ready for the evening events.

Ain't about you, Jayne. It's about what they need.

Sounds like a plan! I might have to be back a little earlier though...

I guess we're pretty much at the mercy of the theater schedule. I'll try to find out what theaters are close to the hotel. Maybe something's in walking distance.

But even if that's so, it all depends on the starting time of the first show. Noonish and we should be fine. But if it's 1:15 or something... well, I'd hate to miss any of the Flanvention goodness just to see a movie I can catch some other day.

So, is it still possible Gina Torres might show? Or that the Whedonator would stop by? I mean, the guy does *live* in LA...

There are just a few hours left to bid on lunch with the entire cast (sans Gina) at the convention! Too rich for me, but what a chance to talk to them all!

Just be aware that this is only ticket 7 of 20, so there will be more chances.

Phew! Snagged Ticket #7, and let me tell you, it was a little more thrilling than I would've liked it to be...watched the bid price DOUBLE in the last 60 seconds...nearly had a heart attack...thank the Lord for the "maximum bid" option!

Now I can have a heart attack wondering what to wear...

woah, 1000 bucks...you must be a *big* fan of Fillion =)

Don't get me wrong...if I was fantastically wealthy, I'd be joining you. But alas, being a college student doesn't pay as well as one would hope...

Amen to that, Steve. I wish I could have explained to the nice bookstore people that I needed to get a 70% discount on my college textbooks because I wanted to save money to buy a lunch ticket with the cast (sans Gina) of Serenity. I don't think they would have bought it. Whadya you think?

I think by being in the same building with them all for 3 days is enough to keep me giddy. Even just thinking about being around them all for 3 days is enough to keep me giddy.
