Okay, there's this really awesome brown dress that River wears here:
with those great boots. I found good boots, but I have searched for a long time and have not been able to find even a pattern for the dress. One person, Hell's Kitten, said she was working on a pattern, but not for this dress, I don't think. Help!

Replying..But, I havent been able to find the dress either..Try searching ebay, they always put old props up for bid.

You can find an exact replica of the boots at your Local Cathy Jean shoes store.

haha, I have those boots-I actually had them before the movie came out, and was pissed River stole them ;p.

As for the dress...you don't need a pattern! Just work from the picture, it's usually a lot easier. I've made zillions of costuems that way, and they always turn out great. or, if you don't have confidence in your sewing skills, get a basic dress pattern (the dress is pretty simple, so you should be able to find a basic pattern that's pretty close) and just make modifications as necessary.

They have a felxible sole, and as far as I can tell, no stupid high heels.
