This is the brainstorming thread for the really long running RP, Adventures in Gunrunning.
The notion here is to breathe some new life into this RP.
Please feel free to post whatever needs to be said, and whatever ideas you may have for this RP.

Hey Channy!
I can take up the reins for Kaylee until we get her re-cast. Also, I believe that Boomer expressed some interest in picking her back up when she got back from Dragon*Con. So there are two options.
On a more shocked note: When did we lose our (St.)Jayne???
I've just been going over our old casting list, and making some updates (the ones I know about). If you like, I'll post the current cast list here as well.
From what I can see, we need to cast for:

It's nice to be back
We did lose our Jayne. At least I know that St. Jayne stepped away from our favorite thug, and from FF fandom in general to keep from being spoilerized for the movie. I'd have to see if he's willing to pick Jayne up again, but no promises.
Current GR RP Cast: I'm all for dumping the prior storyline that would have centered around Damon and Rowan and starting something new.
Squee and I have been running a separate RP called Tzu Yo: Freedom with the Damon and Rowan storyline for some weeks now, so whatever I may have written for Rowan is being taken care of in that RP.
I'd be willing to have Rowan and Damon get off on New Hokkaido and exit stage left, then have other passengers board and start something fresh.
Now before you cry out "NO! Don't Go!!!" It's not like that. Giving up Rowan won't mean I'm ditching the RP. It means I'd be writing for someone new - and I think I need to do that for this RP.
Meantime, I'll be writing for Rowan and Damon until they leave, and I can write for Mal and maybe Jayne in the interim, since they have had contact with Rowan and Damon in the past.

Couple of revisions, though -
Damon was created by Squee, not Dee Dee. Dee Dee picked up Damon after Squee left.
And Rowan's full name is Fa-Zhou Rowan.
Other than that, tis splendiferous!
Now, as for the shooting, aside from the argument I've already made ad nauseum, I'm thinking the night before a delivery is a phenominally bad time for Mal to get himself shot. There's no way he would recover in time--and do we really want to hand off a wounded captain to a potential new cast member?
Not to mention, Rowan may be a medic, but she's no surgeon. She could maybe extract a bullet, but if complications arose, she'd be in over her head. Wouldn't want the captain getting himself dead either.
So, if it's all the same to you folks, I'd like to restart that portion with a rewrite of one of Capn's shiny posts.
Mal and Damon would still have their conversation. Damon would listen and take Mal's words to heart. there would be no "show me your scar, I'll show you mine" because neither one is prone to that. Because Mal is a softie anyhow--come on, we all know he is--Damon gets to come out and join the party with everybody else.
JUMP ahead to the drop, some thrilling heroics, and then off to New Hokkaido where the crew might get to lie low for awhile.
Rowan and Damon disembark on a mission of their own. They will meet up with Robert Laing, who was introduced in the NH Post during the Hiatus. Rowan is convinced to not shoot him as she originally intended, and they ride off into the 'verse version of the sunset.
We start a whole new story with whole new passengers.

Seems like a good plan to me. Now we just need to come up the new story
, and check back with the folks who listed new characters they wanted to bring aboard in the character backstory thread. Oh, and that pesky recasting of our main characters, of course.
