I definately agree.

I have both editions of all of the LOTR movies. It's not too much. It's also convinient if you want to loan out Serenity, but want to keep a copy, just in case.
But I'm definately getting the DVD. Probably for Christmas. Ever since I heard the rumors about the December 20th release date, I've been hinting at my parents to get it for me. "You know, Serenity is coming out on DVD RIGHT before Christmas..."
I'm so excited! But I had better try and see it in the theaters again. I've only seen it twice. But it will be at a second-run movie theater near my house, so I'll probably see it multiple times there.

Crouching Tiger would have picked up big in Asia wouldn't it? Great movie too. I think they should go with the Australian artwork for the cover, though its probably too late. This artwork while good looks like other releases. I would also go for as many movie reviews on the sleeve as could fit.

That REALLY doesn't look like Summer (or River) on the cover... guess I'll just have to wait and see it in person.

Score! I can FINALLY watch Serenity more than once a day! December 20th is going to be awesome; finish exams in morning, go directly to Future Shop and buy the DVD, go home and watch it over, and over, and over again. Hopefully the sales will do good and redeem the poor box office sales just like the Fight Club DVD did for it.
And ya, that doesn't look like Summer Glau on the DVD case, or on the movie poster either for that matter.

I watched the series on Fox when Fox butchered it. I still liked the show even though Fox butchered it. I bought the DVD set and I'm surprised that they haven't disintegrated from being played so much. I've seen the BDM 4 times and I'm going again tomorrow or thursday before it leaves the bargain theatre and is gone from my area for good. When Dec 20th comes I'm going right out and buy the movied DVD and I don't care whether I pay full price or not. If they come out with a Director's Edition in another year or 18 months then I'll buy that too! I own the theatrical releases of all 3 Lord of the Rings movies and I also bought all 3 Extended Versions of those films as well. I just hope Joss gets a good chunk of all this money I'm spending just like I hope Peter Jackson got a good chunk of all money I've spent on LOTR.
If they don't make a sequel they're idiots that don't care about making money.

I loved the show, loved the movie, and will love the DVD. If the powers that be create another flick, great--if not, it was good fun while it lasted. Someone a long time ago said something about too much suffering being caused by holding on to things, you know?
I'll be picking it up when it comes out, maybe later, but I'll be picking up the film. Until that time, I'll enjoy the series that we have, think of what could have been--and move on.
The whole shabang is what it is and was what it was: no use crying over spilled milk and you really can never go home again.
Letting go of the old to make way for the new.
