"Roar" was quite good, and very self-contained in one season if I remember rightly. I'd love to see that on DVD.

Oh, and hi Cadry, if you are reading this!

I've already got SAAB, and round about mid-day on 3-Jan-2006 I'll have Alien Nation:

Yeah, it's eerie that all my fav one-season series are Fox axe murder victims.

UNDECLARED was absolutely great. Loved, loved, loved it.

That was another TV show that my mate got me into thru the power of internet downloads

I had the pleasure of meeting UNDECLARED star Charlie Hunnam at the Green Street Hooligans premiere and we spoke about Undeclared for around 5 minutes, he is the greatest guy.

Other than when I met the BDHs at the Serenity premiere, that was the coolest moment of my life

I could swear that there was more than one season of Brisco County, but then again, I never watched it.

Here's an old one:

Tenspeed and Brownshoe

Some of them have been mentioned already, so I'm going to throw two that havn't been mentioned into the ring.

One show that I think only lasted two eps, and one I keep waiting to show up on DVD, is this show from 2000 called WONDERLAND. It had Martin Donovan, and the guy that played Buffalo Bill in SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. It was like ER, but it was set in a mental institution, and it followed the lives of these folks who worked in the psychiatric ward. Pilot ep was the most riveting thing I've ever seen, and the Madonna/William Orbit theme song to it is one of the most beautiful, haunting electronic songs I've ever heard.

The other show that lasted two years, but its second season was only 9 episodes long, was BOOMTOWN. It came on the same year as FIREFLY, and was as screwed around by NBC, as FIREFLY was by FOX. It took a Rashomon-like pov of this group of L.A. cops and people in their circles. And the character of David McNorris, played by Neal McDonough, is by far the most complex character ever created for network tv. Keep waiting for the second season to come out on DVD to finish up the set.

Those are my two.

XANDER: (baby-talk) Who's a little fear demon?
C'mon, who's a lit-tle fear demon?
GILES: Don't taunt the fear demon.
XANDER: Why? Can he hurt me?
GILES: No, it's just… tacky.

My other most favorite one season, brilliant, cruelly cancelled shows, is:

Max Headroom

A lot of good ones mentioned already.
I fell completely in love with another Friday death-trapped show that ran before the X-Files (I think) Season 3:

Strange Luck

Fox, never learning from it's biggest dramatic success...
