AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

I can't believe it! UIP-Switzerland has decided not to release Serenity in germanspeaking Switzerland "due to the low success rate in other countries"!

Now I've got to go to geneva or somewhere in germany.....

btw, that may be less of interest for you guys but I just need to let off some steam!!!

It has also been dropped from Mexico, where it was supposed to be released next weekend.

Is this a definite? I mean, the intermission (yes, they still do that here) and the subtitles bug me... but I could still live with it.

But I think this is a good excuse for a cheap flight to the UK or Ireland :)

Regardless of what I think of the movie the UK box office does not prove poor performance in other countries. I smell a rat!

I emailed a South African cinema chain, Nu Metro, and they replied that the distributors cancelled the local box office release here also.

It must be playing somewhere in Switzerland.

Sadly no.
Switzerland has 4 official languages, and often (though not always) they unfortunately overdub films.

That link still says "24 Nov" for German speaking Switzerland. The OP said its not going to play in German speaking Switzerland; I'm not sure, but it wouldn't suprise me. But the $ are probably coming from the French part, which apparently opened on 19 Oct.

But I got a cheap flight and took my wife away for an international weekend away including watching Serenity. Loved it!
