Firefly Virtual Season 2 ideas

Okay, I have an idea to do a virtual season 2 of Firefly.

Basically, the season will follow the story arc from the BDM, except in far more detail than we were able to see from the movie. There have been a lot of lament that the movie packed an entire season worth of plot and squeezed them into 120 minutes. Here is a chance to recreate what the Firefly season 2 would have been like have the show been allowed to continue.

Like the TV show we can have different writers for each episode, so it will be a collaborative effort.

Anyway it's just an idea to see if there are any interest out there, and feel free to add any suggestions in this thread.

I have some ideas. They have to break the bad news to Wash's parents. River gets addicted to a drug that makes her lucid. I got lots of crazy ideas about the Unification Wars, the earth that was, and the building of the new earths.

I would vote for Script form. Like a real season. Provided this is still in the works...*bats eyes* please! :)

I was looking foward to backstory on Shepard Book,
but I think season 2 if it happens ought to include.

Some new charaters to fill the voids left by wash and book.

Perhaps, some revelation of books history, maybe tied into some kind of abbey investigation to his death.

I think Inara would need a new purpose to be on the ship, since she likely will be kicked from the guild for aiding the crew in thier movie adventure.

Just some of my ideas for now..

No don't have it continue after the film. Have it continue straight after S1. I also hope it is script based, my interest would just got *plop*if it was prose.

My thoughts exactly. Joss has said that the film was the super compact form of season 2 so I would love (and I think this was the original idea) to expand the story line of the film, but that doesn't mean that we can add things like more Book and Inara history ect.

My idea is this, we take the film, we list the events that we know must happen, then we fill in any ideas that we have about other characters. Maybe we do this as a group, maybe we each take a character or a story line and we fill in the time line in a little more detail. We could use the comic books too, I haven't read them yet (where do you find them? I've looked all over.) but I understand they fill in some of the time gaps.

Then once we have a timeline that everyone likes we split it up into 20 episodes or how ever many we want to do (I think between 19 and 23 is a standerd season, something like that) and we assign the eps to different writers. We then post them in the order in which the would show on TV. I do think that we should have the time line first though (even if its not very detailed) because it might get a little hard to know where to stop and finish otherwise. But I've never done this before so there may be a much better way to work it.

These are just some thoughts, I'm sure ya'll have ones that are just as good and better. :) I hope we can get this rolling, I think it'd be great fun. :)

I see your idea, to flesh out a good season 2 is should have seeds of some ideas for season 3, so the story has continuity.

Also, the fact that good shows like firefly, family, farscape... etc. are canceled and it takes fan based marketing to get it going again, tells me the sad state tv is in.
I dream of the day when fox, nbc, cbs, and abc are not running the show.
