Ok, friends, I'm relatively new to the FFF boards... But I also have a LOT of space on the web... Should we start our own "place" for the vids? I can afford the host site... What do you think?

I had the idea to attempt to have a voting site... but I'm lazy and busy.
unfortunately, one of the best videos I've seen Godsmack's "Serenity" by Luminosity has vanished.
A voting site being where we can view each video and give it a rating 0-10.
And break the videos up by category...

I think you're my Big Damn Hero.
That would be awesome. A permanent place for all the fanvids would be excellent, that way we can all access them.
I have a Kaylee vid on megaupload and I'm working on making more. I haven't got anywhere to keep a permanent copy.

If the site gets up and running (and get permission from Luminosity), I have a copy of this one on my comp. It is really good. This vid actually got me onto Godsmack, which are a really great band.

I can't find the 7-minute extended trailer on the site you recommended. Could you tell me where it is exactly? I'm new to fanvids, but I'm becoming rabid over them.

Not to be a downer, as I love the idea, but you also have to worry about bandwidth. If you're dealing with huge file sizes (as you are) and your available bandwidth is limited, you may run out in just a couple of days. 
Just something to think about.

Okay I have it on my home computer but you HAVE to have the video to Bonnie Tyler's 'I Need a Hero' It is the BEST DAMN VIDEO ever. It made me want to make fan videos.
You know what I'd love? A tutorial or info on what you need to make your own vids. I have a tons of ideas but I can't find anyone who wants to teach me how to make them. So I would also love a tutorial (or for someone to message me with more info on makin fan vids).
This is a great idea, I love fan videos so please, if you can host them you would rule!

I agree, that's a great idea. I have a vid I made of Nickelback's Savin Me from their newest cd attached to clips from "Out of Gas". And as was recommended, threw in some tips on creating your own vids, the thread is here:

Personally I use Vidilife.com to host my videos I use, but if anyone gets something else going, I'm all ears.
Mal: Kaylee, what the hell's going on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?
