Best completed fanfic series?

Wow, there are tons of cool fanfics here and I have read quite a few already but am also kind of overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fanfics.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend their choice for the best (in their opinion, of course) completed fanfic series that basically brings closure to the series. Tall order, I know, but I'd like to see some insightful opinions of the fans here. :)

I'm a little overwhelmed by all the fics, too. I've read dozens and dozens here, and I've barely scratched the surface.

I'd feel very comfortable with two recommendations among recently posted, though:

1) Bel Canto by RinnyPJ http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=5378

It's a very short, unassuming one-off story with Serenity spoilers. Extremely well-written, and it doesn't try to do too much.

2)Slim as Dimes (series) by belasera http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=5364

It's a NC-17 series with a focus on Kaylee/Jayne, which doesn't sound appealing at all to me. But the narrative is in Kaylee's voice, and I just think it's remarkable that the writer sounds so comfortable and easy maintaining that - telling the story as Kaylee. Content aside, I just admire it for the wordsmithing.

"Kaylee's Lament" by ScrewtheAlliance. Don't worry about how it starts... it quickly develops into one of the most well written stories I've ever read, with superb characterisation and a wicked plot. "The Treasure of Lei Fong Wu" follows on from it, and is, almost unbelievely, even better!

"Truthsome" by Guildsister, mainly because it goes on from there to the immense and almost-finished "Blue Sun Job". Excellent stuff.

I believe Kaylee's Lament is held as the gold standard for fanfic, not least because it has a professional writer behind it.

Although if you are a busy executive with only time for the briefest of fanfic, I have supplied something for that very target market:

There are a lot professional writers doing Firefly fics.

That said, Kaylee's Lament (what I've read of it anyway) is a very well-written story.

But yeah, pretty much everything by LJC or RinnyPJ is gold. Those two are both excellent writers who do a very good job of getting out of the reader's way.
