Alright, so here's the deal. Lately I've really been considering getting the outline of the firefly tattooed on me. And my question is how many other people have Firefly/Serenity tattoo's? If you've got one, post a picture if you can.

Take me out, to the black, tell them I ain't coming back.

Of course in the 'verse there's a mix of american and chinese cultures. And in the american culture in today's world, people get chinese characters as tattoos... since you love Firefly so much to tattoo something it on you, and I'm sure no one here'll 'ai ya' you for it, you can consider the characters for 'Serenity' such as the ones posted on the ship.

No fair you copied me. I was planning on getting that too. Not on my wrist but behind my right sholder. Except the word Serenity means something personal to me, nuttin to do for the Whedon's verse. Now all I need to do is to get that tattoo is these green rectangluar shape paper called money. How much does a tattoo cost anyway?

and by the by, does it hurt?

The cost of a tattoo depends on the size. Most places have a bottom line basic amount that they'll start with that will go up with size.
I got my smallest one for the starting amount which was 50.
As for whether or not it hurts, I will honestly tell you that it doesn't. Or at least it didn't for me. I have two, one on my back and one on my neck, and while there are moments that aren't as pleasant as others, it was never a large amount of pain. Near a bone will hurt more, but behind your shoulder shouldn't be a problem.
I remember that after a while the vibrations even started tickling.
Be warned that once you have one you'll want more...

Yeah, the word Serenity means something more to me as well. It cost me $ 100 I believe.

And it wasn't really painful. More like uncomfortable. But completely worth it.

I have Summers face tattooed on my chest. Im going to send her a picture of it along with a vile of my blood and a description of that psychotic episode I had where I became her heheheheheehehewoomehehehehehehehehehahhhahha

No wait, no I don’t and no im not.

Seriously though im a big fan of body art but I don’t know if I would want something permanently etched into my skin. I think temporary tattooing should be pursued more vigorously by the industry there is a market for it.

Who do you suppose is in there?

If you want temporary..try henna. It fades after a while. (very popular in India)

I love the "serenity" symbol, but I am afraid if I get a tattoo of it anywhere visible, people will come up and ask me how many days of sobriety I have...and then when I start drinking a beer, they will haul me off to an AA meeting and try to find me a sponsor ;)
