...would you?
Serenity is a great movie, so concentrated and fully packed! An impressive experience that wouldn't exist (not in quite the same way, at least) if the show wasn't cancelled. It forced Joss to explode with possibly the best genre film of all time!!!
I believe things happen for a reason....
We got half a season, and a major motion picture, all pure GOLD!! Would you temporally tamper with that?
Huh?

Hell yes I would! The film is good, but 'best genre film of all time'? How many genre films have you watched??
The Firefly universe was designed for TV and I have confidence Joss would have taken good care of our crew for a couple of awesome seasons...before repeatedly putting them through hell and killing them off as he is so want to do ;)

Yes. I'd prefer the chance to savour it all.

Yeah, I would rather have had it in TV form.

I also feel that my feeling is not merely feeling, but objective FACT.
Do you dare contradict me??
Mr. Grounded, don't get me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Here we are in our fourth season of the highly successful, genre defying, ground-breaking, HUGELY profitable television franchise that is Firefly.
The two spin-off shows, "Reaver Madness" and "The Badger Files" have explored new ground and even the cheesiest cross-overs present more pure storytelling than any Crossing Jordan/Vegas travesty ever will.
Morena Baccarin's new line of fragrances don't smell like air freshener and Summer Glau's summer tour with the Bolshoi was a 'must see' in 10 cities around the world.
Adam Baldwin's appearances on Letterman are always a treat and how can you not be thrilled to see Nathan Fillion on every other cover of "People" magazine.
The fact that Gina Torres just landed a role as the new James Bond girl at twice the pay Lawrence Fishburn received for his Matrix role tells the story about the success of our BDH's.
Have you collected all 6 Wash action figures yet? My favorite is "Niska torture victim Wash with the big lunch gut".
I almost forgot Jewel winning the emmy last year for best supporting actress for the scene where she performs surgery on the Shepherd whilst Simon gives her instructions over the radio.
Speaking of 'the Body'... Sean Maher was perfect as Jack Ryan in that Tom Clancy mini-series.
Ron Glass is always a class act and the work he did organizing all Fox stars for that emergency relief telethon was well deserving of the Freedom Medal.
I'm very glad we've enjoyed our four seasons and am looking forward to at least four more. Hopefully the three Emmys that Joss has received won't go to his head.

Sigh... Thanks for the lovely fantasy, Knibblet! Sooooo much better than my "real" life right about now.
On the other hand, Chrisisall, I do get your point. The BDM is sheer brilliance and wouldn't exist without the cancellation. Fox gave Joss lemons, and he made a whizz-bang of a lemon meringue pie. I fully intend to savor every bite, but even as grateful as I am, I'm not sure I could have chosen the steep and thorny road to Serenity over the primrose path of weekly Firefly... That would be a damn close call.

i would want the series if oly for this reason:
the story told in the BDM would hav ebeen told on the show, (granted in a longer story arc) as well as many more amazing stories in the 'verse that joss could have created.!

I'm with Tudykrawks... I think the story told in the movie would have been told in infintely greater detail in series form. Grateful for the movie, but would have preferred the show.
Still want the show back.
