its great that we express our appreciation and pleasure for Serenity, but shouldn't we take it to the next level and let others know, too? there have been a wide range of critic assessments, including this lukewarm and oft repeated one from Robert Sims of Hollywood.com:

"Firefly soars again, with director Josh Whedon reviving his short-lived TV series as a big-screen adventure named after the show's rust bucket of a spacecraft. Browncoats--the Firefly equivalent of a Trekker--will walk away with a sense of closure. Others may just walk out after the opening credits. In a year when Hollywood bastardized TV classics such as 'Bewitched' and 'The Honeymooners', 'Serenity' stands out as a welcomed labor of love. Unfortunately, 'Serenity' won't mean much to anyone but diehard fans of Firefly. And that, sadly, will likely result in Whedon losing out on a second opportunity to extend the life of a great TV show that deserves to be on the air today."

i think that would just about squelch any desire a non-fan would have to see the movie. so lets give the true picture, including the fact that people seeing the movie without first seeing the series have become fans and understood the movie quite well.

below i've listed a couple sites that allow for member ratings and comments. the Hollywood.com site gives you the opportunity to not only rate and comment on the movie but to disagree with the critic.
