First, I'd like to share with you guys, I've been a loyal Browncoat since shortly after the series was canceled. I didn't realize until here very recently that there was a large online community, or I'd have been here sooner.
But what I really came here to share with you has to do with my recent experience with attempting to see Serenity. I've seen it 4 times already, plus 2 extra tickets bought by me. But I NEEDED to see it again. So last night, I took a trip to my local National Amusements theater. Earlier in the day, a friend of mine had called the theater and confirmed the 7:30 showtime, so we got there at 7 pm. Stepping up to the counter, I proclaimed, "1 for the 7:30 Serenity!" The cashier looked at me forlornly, then proceeded to break my heart; "The 7:30 showing has been canceled - we're using that theater to show a sneak preview of Domino."

GAHHH!!!!!!
We accepted free passes to Wallace and Gromit, and went to the 9:10 showing of Serenity instead. But, simply on genereal principle, I am boycotting Domino. I don't know what it's about, who's in it, or anything else. but I'll be damned if any movie that prevented me from getting my Serenity fix is going to flash itself before my eyes!

Domino is a glamourized account of real-life fashion model turned bounty hunter Domino Harvey's life. I saw a trailer of it before seeing Serenity, and let me tell you, it looked plain silly.
When star Keira Knightley and I eventually get together, she'll have some explaining to do...

Oh I saw a preview for that. Didn't look very interesting to me, either.

The only thing Domino's got going for it is Christopher Walken. And even that won't get me into the theater to see it.

Well ain't that a kick in the pants. Serenity was bumped for a prescreening of "Domino"? That looks like such a lame movie I wouldn't watch it on tv, let alone pay to see it in a theatre.
Gorram feds must be behind this.

I halfway expected to find out it was produced by 20th Century Fox.... would have been oddly ironic that the company so good at pre-empting the show took a shot at pre-empting the movie.
Alas, it looks to be from New Line, which just isn't as funny.

Not so glamorous is the fact that Domino Harvey passed away recently of a drug overdose.
