fortune-firefly: Need serious quote help

I'm the author of fortune-firefly, an addon to the quote program "fortune" that lets it give firefly quotes (over 86k worth of quotes currently, and more are always welcome!). It can be found at:

For those who don't have fortune, the file "firefly" is human readable; quotes are separated by a '%'. The most recent version is fortune-firefly-1.9/firefly

Anyways, the reason I'm writing this post (and in fact, registered for this board ) is this: Does anyone have the visual companion for the movie? I just got the fortune-firefly package registered for a major linux distribution, and want to get all of the Serenity quotes corrected before the next release.

Basically, when I went to see Serenity, I brought in a sheet of paper and scribbled furiously in shorthand to get all of the quotes I could (not realizing how good the dialog would be; by the end of it, I was writing over other quotes to try and get everything down!)

Anyways, after I got it home, I had a big mess, and corrected as much as I could by searching through various web forums for people who were using the quotes. Some there was dispute over the wording, and for some I couldn't find anybody referring to that particular quote. So, I'd take it as a kindness if someone with the visual companion would be willing to help me correct/fill in the blanks/add context to the Serenity quotes I have in there.

Any takers? :)

I'd be glad to help too. I have the VC, and it'd be something to pacify my current raging obsession with the BDM.

One thing to keep in mind, however, is that the shooting script in the VC isn't exactly what's in the final edit of the movie. I noticed that yesterday, when I saw the film and tried to catch one of my favorite Chinese quotes from the VC. It's Wash's line, and translates as "There's nothing about this plan that isn't horrific!" Except it's not there, unless Wash says it while a lot of other people are talking too.

It might be best to get as close as possible (between your notes and the VC), then take the list into the theater with a flashlight (sit in the back row!) and verify the quotes. I could have my arm twisted to do that part too. (Just sayin'...)

The quotes from Serenity begin at line 2868 (starting with a quote from the teacher at the beginning of the movie). They continue down to line 3402. Most of the quotes should be at least roughly correct, but I'd like to get them at least closer to exact (accepting any differences between the VC and the movie), and some I know are way off; all I had was my notes. All you need to do is just check the quotes and correct any errors. Also, if some quotes are lacking the context that makes them good, add that in. The worst batch of quotes (the most important to correct) are right near the end of the file - lines 3341 to 3402.

When you're done, you can just email it to me (meme@daughtersoftiresias.org). I really appreciate this! If you want to add any quotes in that you like (either the series or the movie), feel free - all you have to do is type in the quote, followed by a line that contains only a percent sign.

Naturally, I'll list you as a contributor to the package if you would like :)

In fact, anyone who has any quotes that they would like in there, which currently aren't, just let me know (whether you can help correct quotes from the movie or not) - I'm still catching great new quotes every time I watch the series that I didn't notice before. :)
