I'll bet there will be a sequel - number 2 on the openning weekend isn't that bad. It might take DVD sales to convince Universal, but there's more money in DVDs than box-offices these days and I think Serenity will do better than most films on DVD.
And I'm sure Joss has plenty of stories left in those characters.

It only sold 500,000 in the Firefly series and some who bought that will not buy the DVD. I won't. Let me assure you the DVD sales will not rescue the future. The future is now. Enjoy Serenity, if you did, while you can.

And by the way, this is coming from a huge Firefly fan. I bought the DVD within a few weeks of seeing the series on the SciFi Channel and have watched it all the way through 3 times in the last few months.
