One single thing you love about Firefly?

What is ONE SINGLE thing you love about Firefly/Serenity? Please be specific and explain why. Don't just say Jayne or one of the other characters. If you love Jayne then instead say what specifically you love about him. Oh and this isn't exactly have to be what you love the most, just some thing you love about Firefly.

For me I love the name of the ship, "Serenity". The reason I love that name is because of what it symbolizes in the show and what it means.

In a word, its humanity.
It may be set in a distant, high-tech future, but it's really all about the people, their choices, dilemmas, feelings, and interactions.
It is, in short, a drama in the classic sense of the word. Not a soap opera (though it has a few such elements). Not a formulaic action adventure, though that's there aplenty. Not a western "oater", though many of the same themes are considered.
Firefly and Serenity are about people we care about confronting issues we hope we never have to face and managing to pull through and keep flying.
It's Shakespeare for the 21st century.

Family.
The crew is like family and Mal views his crew as family. We have seen in the series & now the movie that Mal will go to any lengths to protect his crew, regardless of the cost to himself. It is this sense of love & camaraderie that really appeals to me.

yea, i can't say anything about jayne poo lol. I love the fact that he's just the big annoying brother of the group who if the chips are down will stick by you...that's if deep down inside he likes you. how's that?

The acting.
Everyone bounces off everyone else. No mugging or upstaging. (OK, there's plenty of upstaging, but that's because they are what I'd call Proper Stars, and it was all shared out equally anyway...)
The lack of Emoting was brilliant. They got their messages across without that appalling gurning (Google.com) that actors feel they have to treat us to. There was more emotion conveyed than in any other 50 shows you could mention. And conveyed better.
Only 14 episodes, and everyone was in character right from the off. The script was quite gimmicky, with the Western-speak, and loads of gags, and actually contained a lot of information, which might (or might not) be important in the future, but was delivered in such a way as not to come over sounding contrived or annoying.
And the other single (yes, I'm cheating...) thing was the odd feeling I have about the axed series.
I sort of want more, but even if there wasn't, it wouldn't kill me. What I have seen was extraordinary, and something I'll always be glad of.
In and of itself, the series was a complete pleasure in every possible way.

Family. It was everywhere with all ten characters. Mal didn't just create a crew, me made them family. In particular, I always loved the brother/sister elements so often and well played by the cast at different times. The most obvious is Simon and River, of course, but that was felt between them all as sibling, parental, even aunt or uncle. Difference is, this family was made up of people who chose each other. Even Simon and River. He could have chosen to leave his sister with those philistines twisting her brain, but NO, he rescued her. For better or for worse.
The tenth character - Serenity - provided a home for them all. The moment she first appears in the movie, you know she's something special. And when Wash pulls up over the hill during the chase scene, there's a feel - for me at least - of a momma bear going to rescue her wayward cubs.

Everything. I'm a greedy bastard so I pick everything. I love everything about Firefly, except for the fact that it got cancelled so fast. Not allowing me to pick everything as my favorite thing could result in serious injuries and severe head trauma.

Like GEH, I loved the whole enchilada, The "feel" of the show. All the other components contributed to the "feel". And the fact that he didn't beat you over the head with the special effects.
Like an orchestra, you take away the violins and it's a whole different sound or "feel" to the music.
