The Operative: That girl will rain destruction down on you and your ship. She's an albatross, Captain.
Mal: Way I remember it, albatross was a ship's good luck... til some idiot killed it.
(to Inara)
Yes, I've read a poem. Try not to faint.
Mal: You do that, best make peace with your dear and fluffy lord.
Mal: Leg's good, it'll bleed plenty and we avoid any necessary organs...
Guard: I was thinking more of a graze...
Mal: Well you don't want it to look like you just gave up...
Guard: No, I get that...
Simon: If I speak the words, "Eta–
Jayne: (jumping back)
Well don't say it!
Zoë: It only works on her, Jayne.
Jayne: Oh. Well, now I know that.

How about poor Wash, alone on the bridge after the big barnswallow maneuver ...
"Is everyone OK down there? ......
Hello??"
That got a huge laugh at every showing I've seen. :)
And the operative: "Target the reavers. Target the reavers! SOMEBODY SHOOT SOMETHING!!!!" ROFL!
I also just loved the Mal-Inara interaction in this film ... that great scene where he tells her, "But you fog things up! You always do! You turn me around .... I wish to hell you were someplace else." And she says so sadly, after he stalks away, "I was!"
Book had the best death scene lines ever ...
Mal: "You did the right thing."
Book: "Coming from you, that means almost nothing."

Quote:True, but it was great Mal and Inara banter regardless. "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" probably isn't as well known to the masses as "She Walks in Beauty."

I love the "Yes, I have read a poem" line, but I think it would work even better as a Whedonism if it was a chunk of dialog that started with The Operative's line about River being an "albatross".
Can somebody post those bits, please?
Or maybe it's just me - I haven't read a lot of poetry either, so when I do, it's an event.
yeah, it's me.
Simon: "Am I talking to Miranda now?"
River: NO words, just her patented "you're such a boob" look. Classic brother sister interaction. One of many reasons why I love this 'verse.

Sliding the drink, I loved that moment. It gets lost among so many other moments but I remember that standing out all three times I've seen it.

Take my love
Take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care
I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I've found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me
That should have been there, not just the music at the end of the credits, we should have heard it sung.
As a result of it's absence I was forced (on moral grounds) to sing it yesterday with someone I didn’t know who saw me at the movie on Friday. Amazing how it brings people together.

Jayne pretty much stayed Jayne.
"I could stand a little more."
"Let's be bad guys."
"Gee wouldn't it be great if we had some grenades?"
From Zoe: "Oh look now we can retire from this life of crime."
From Mal: "Or we could talk more.."
From Kaylee" "I wanna live." (Ok the battery comment was great too)
I could have used more cussin' in Chinese overall.
"Guess you broke into the wrong rec room."

Jayne hanging off the back of the mule
"I won't get et! You shoot me if they take me!"
Sees Mal taking aim--presumably at the line from the pike in Jayne's leg.
Jayne's panicked shriek: "Wuh don' shoot me FIRST!"

like the bit w/ simon asking if hes talking to miranda- river points, tehn looks back at zoe, who looks at her questioningly- the look on rivers face next, as if to say "of course i know what im talking about!" priceless.

Forgive me if I butcher or misquote the following lines, I don't have my copy of the book yet:
ZOE: You know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed. Look it up later.
Also...
MAL: I don't kill women and children.
OPERATIVE: I do.
and...
INARA: ...and that isn't incense. [boom]

"Since when have your plans and what actually happens been similar?"
Or something like that.

Mal: Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my goorramn ship for no apparent reason?
Lovebot's message: Guy killed me Mal. He killed me with a sword. How weird is that? ......they can't stop the signal, Mal. they can never stop the signal.
I noticed that pan in Miranda, and I always wondered why it stopped. I can only hope it has something to do with Wash's next line.
Did anybody notice River's goggles? It looks exactly like what Jayne wears in Mrs. "Macolm Reynolds."
Oh! Not to mention his censored pinup girl t-shirt during the bar fight scene. I almost had a heartattack there...besides the tight ass army shirt he's wearing *__*
