Springfield Northern VA on saturday night the theater was pretty empty maybe 1/4 full the people there seemed to enjoy it. I loved it. Oh yeah and they had a line set up like they were expecting a sold out show but no one even bothered to get in line and just meandered into the theater. only 10 mil sigh.

Well, I'm not sure how to put this in the right perspective, but...

Went with my son on Saturday for the 1:10 show at the Concord Cinema 10 (Concord New Hampshire USA). The Cinema has 10 screens, and I would say that we had about 45-55 people watching serenity. Judging by how many cars were in the parking lot I'd have to guess that there were no more than 60 people at this Cinema total.

Also, went again last night for the 7:20 showing in Manchester NH (nine screens), I know for a fact that there were only 11 people at the theater and nine including myself were there for the BDM.

Very low turnouts for any movie theater, but overwhelmingly in favor of Serenity.

Take it as you want.

Last Friday night was my 3rd viewing (saw 2 previous preview screenings in the summer) at the Hollywood 24 in Atlanta, and the place was packed for the 7:30 show in the largest theater (there are 2 of these sized theaters for the new release film of the week), and it was the first film where I noticed so many attendees sit up in their seats and leaning forward, watching in earnest, soaking every frame, every syllable.

It was great to see the film in a theater full of people who love Firefly and left Serenity with nary a disappointment, and bursting into applause as Serenity moved out from under the rain clouds to take its place in space, to keep on flying amongst the stars.

I too saw it at the Regal Hollywood 24 in Atlanta. Saw a matinee yesterday (Monday) at the 4:40pm showing, playing a little early hooky from work. Not sure how weekday matinee showings are like attendance-wise, or what a good showing would be at that time, but there were 7 or 8 of us there, and even though it was a small crowd, everyone seemed to have enjoyed it.

Friday I saw the movie at 9:40p with about 150 fff.net people at Mission Valley Cinema in Raleigh, NC. The theater holds 481 people and I would say that AT LEAST 400 people were there! it was a great night.

Saturday me and 10 other fff.net people went to see the movie at 7:30p at Regal North Hills and the room was maybe 1/2 full. Once again good crowd reactions.

At first there was only my wife and i with a few other people. Of course, being twenty minutes early can do that. There was a steady stream of people until the BDM started, and then a few more AFTER! The theater was almost full..on a MATINEE showing, which I can imagine how it did Friday...

Oh my god! Thanks a whole bunch for ruining the film for me. Really. I was really really hoping someone would tell me something really specific about the film. Honestly. For crying out loud! when will people learn to mark spoilers! Especially one like that!

A classmate of mine who also saw the movie pulled some website that stated that Serenity had gotten into to #2 in the box office. I think it's 10.5 mil...i can't remember.
If it's that much, just think of how much money during the rest of it's stay in theathers...
